Remarks

I really like my college because it gave me such a talented, sweet friends for lifetime. It gave me opportunities even in sports arts and internships aspects also. Infrastructure is really lovely and fantastic.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course consist of 8 semesters. In each semester we will have 2 exams, midterm test and end semester exam and if we fail in exam suplimentary exams also there for corresponding subjects. After odd semester we will get one month vecation and after even semesters we will get 3 months vacation.

Placement Experience

Each years the placement opportunities are increasing. Companies like Cisco, 1+, Amazon, hero, bajaj, ford and so many multinational companies have been applied for recruiting students. Institute provide internships also, from 5th semester we can apply for internship exams.

College Events

RAGAM is one of the best cultural festival in South India conducted by NIT CALICUT which involves 20000 participants. TATHVA is also one of the best technical festival in south India which gives technical opportunities for 20000 participants across India.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is SBI loan for NIT students in which SBI pay your mess bill and also your course fees every year. Repayment of this loan starts only after one year finishing full course. A lot of students especially from NRI category are applying for the loan.

Campus Life

Our college has a high potential in extracurricular activities such as sports and arts. In INTER NIT CHAMPIONSHIP we have accrued honourable legecy even in arts and sports. Our institute appreciate and gives good facilities for these achievements.

Hostel Facilities

There are hostels above 9 each having good infrastructure including garden, and all hostels have same facilities which will provide best accomodation and food such as north and south Indian items. Avg monthly cost for accommodation and food will be‚ 4000.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini network and senior students are highly helpful in guiding and mentoring us to specific path. We have a aluminis from European countries, American countries and other developed countries. Even some aluminis are faculties in our college.

Admission

There is a entrance exam "JEE MAIN" for the qualification of admission in several NITs in India. Applications are invited during November to December months. Exam usually conducted within Jan - march months.

It's difficult to opinion about faculties, because there are best faculties and worse faculties. Best faculties I mean best by lecture and interaction between students. I will give 7/10 rating for faculties.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
