Remarks
Positive- Everything is good, it contains all required things that is required for being an idol college Negative- The campus should be well maintained, can be beautified more. Course burdain should be lessened, as per students own branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to explain both the good and bad sides of the course. We've got an environment of exploring us, in the field of our talent, after coming here. But keeping this apart in case of academic, we've given 5subjects for study in one semester (some semester has 6 also). As being an CSE student, I have to cover 5subjects in 1st semester (CS, EVS,EC,MATH,CHEM) Ya, it is good that studying more will enhance our knowledge more, though I think if we're given to focus on our branch's core sub(CS and MATH), then it would be better for us. As then we could give more time to those than now we're giving, which might be more helpful. Because the other branch's subjects is not gonna help me in future I think.
Placement Experience
Placement and jobs are very good. It has risen since last 2-3 years, as the statistics says. Last year 4 students got 32 LPA job, and glad to say that all of them are form my branch(CSE). Ya , our college provides us good internships. But main problem with the internship is that it is held in such a time when all leaves the hostel and goes home(mainly vacations) , and during the busy college days.
College Events
Ohh, this may be a never ending paragraph if I go to write about the events properly. I just want to explain in short about these. Our college is providing us regular events since we have joined here. It included many competitional events, many cultural events, DJ nights and many more. Main thing is time sucks very much, so everyone don't get able to join each and every event if they want to do too. Sometimes times also overlap. But overall feedback I'll say this is very very very good.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Yaa, I think it is a bit expensive. As I fall into above 5LPA category, I have to pay full fees. I don't have any waiver in the fees. Whole the year(2 semesters) requires approximately 2.5 lacks of fees, which I have required to lake a loan for that, as we are not rich enough.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sorry for this. I don't have any knowledge regarding this, and I think their is no any scholarships for above 5LPA students (as heard form someone). But I think they provides scholarships to below 1LPA Students.
Campus Life
Ya, NIT Silchar is not behind any other institutions on giving opportunities to it's students in exploration of his/her talent. It have facilities to all the sports. Other than sports it provides better books from the library, laboratory is well equipped. Glad to say that NIT Silchar library is the largest digital library of ASIA continent
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is good. I have given the PG hostel. As I have seen the rooms of PG hostel(2 seater) is slightly smaller than other hostels of our college, though it is very good. Mess food is compensable. Water supply is also perfect, and bathrooms,toilets are also cleand on daily basis. Overall, hostel facilities are too good. No objection from my side
Alumni/Alumna
Ya, that's very true. All are helpful, and provides us helping hands without any objection whenever a junior falls in tux. Not only in case of any course related doubts, they helps us in other fields also.
Admission
The main process of getting admitted into NIT is through the examination named JEE MAINS( JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination) Thereafter councilling is done and a student gets a NIT college according to his rank, from his choosen ones
Faculty
Faculty is very good. All of them teaches us very well. Some of them are rude and talks in anger also, but the main output from a teacher( explanation of the knowledge) is of very good quality, which will convince me with them, with not having any issues with them.
