Life in my College

To conclude, I will say that my college offers great experience to its students. It offers everything that one requires to develop himself. From academics to extra-curriculars, there are plenty of opportunities present in the campus one can avail.

The course curriculum is in accordance with one's branch and field of study. We are taught all the topics that might come handy in our future placements and internships. We have mid-semester ans end-semester exams along with various quizzes, assignments, labs and project works. The overall grading of the subject is based on all of these.

My college offers very good placements opportunities. Placement is nearly 100% every year. It also offers on campus internships in the third year. Since I am a sophomore, I haven't sat for internship yet. Moreover my college also offers several projects under the faculty itself.

We have our cultural fest Thomso, celebrated every year in the month of October. Various cultural activities like group dance, debates, pfashion shows etc are organised during the 3-day fest. Then we have our technical fest, Cognizanxce organised in the month of March. It is also a 3-day fest during which various tech competitions are organized inwhich various colleges take part. Pro-nites are also an important part of these fests. Then we have Sangram, our annual sports competition in which students from various colleges come to participate in different sports.

We have a feasible fee structure. For those whose annual family income is less than 2 or 3 lacs (not sure), my college offers a full fee waiver. For those whose annual family income is more than 2-3 lacs but less than 5 lacs, two-third fee is waived. So the fees doesn't seem to be a burden.

My college offers various scholarships based on student's performance in academics, sports and otjer extra-curriculars. James Thomson scholarship is given to students who get AIR(All India Rank) below 300 in JEE Advanced. This year the upper limit on rank was 278. It also offer fee waivers to students who find it difficult to pay their fees.

There are various extra-curricular activities students can be a part of. My college offers various sports opportunities to students. There is a place for nearly ebery sport be it badminton, tennis, cricket etc. Various clubs are also present for dance, music, dramatics, filmography, photography and other activities too. All in all there are several extra-curriculars in the campus to develop one's personality.

The hostel infrastructure is however not so good. Most of the hostels are old. The rooms are small but well-ventilated. Washrooms are cleaned daily. The mess food is hygienic but not very tasty. The corridors are cleaned every week. We have adequate dustbins in the corridors. New hostels are getting built in the campus. I will rate the hostel infrastructure as average.

We have a very strong alumni network. There is a separate student body that is respond for maintaining contact with the alumni. It organises several meetups between the alumni and students every year. From this year only, a fest, Raionzo, has been started to further strengthen the alumni- student bond.

Admission to my college is through national level tests, JEE Mains and Advanced. All 12th passouts can apply for JEE Mains. Those who clear JEE Mains are eligible for JEE Advanced. Around 10,000 seats are filled every year through this examination across 23 IITs across the country.

My college has top faculties who are experts in their respective field of interest. They have their education from Indian as well as foreign colleges and have great sense of knowledge of their respective works.
