Review on NITMAS Kolkata

Neotia institute of technology management and science or also known as the Neotia University overall is a best experience of my life. With the daily morning classes to the fun evening with all types of activities to participate. It has been a great experience in this college. The only thing is placement as this is an emerging University so the placement at this time is not that good but with time hope so even this will improve!!.

In the starting of the course first 2 years are mostly focused on the basic subjects such as physics, chemistry, English,nd basic programming in c and etc. And as we proceed from our third year the course becomes more focused on computer skills like c,c++,java,and python. Exams in our college is as per the MAKAUT curriculums that is in every semester 4 internal exams are held to prepare the student for their final semester examination, Then at the end of every semester there is a semester exams. Labs in this college is well equipped with all the required equipments needed for performing an experiment. Classes are held in every weekdays and there is no classes in weekends. The best part of this college is when the sun starts to fade and the moon starts to show up, when the classes are over then all the hostelers comes out to take part in all kind of activities that happens in the campus. We have all kind of sports available in our campus with a big ground and a basketball court and a volleyball court. And every year we have various kinds of events that takes place in the campus like cultural fest, various sports events and technical events like technical exhibition called as "SANKALP" held by our technical club "TECHNICHE". We have various clubs in our campus through which students gets chance to enhance their knowledge apart from college studies. Like we have photography club for the students interested in photography,and many more.

Placement is good. Basically in this college mostly it is pool campussing i. e. students are given information about the companies doing campussing in other colleges nearby. Since it is a pool campussing so the competition is very high as students from other colleges are even present there so chances of getting placed becomes tough.

There are many events that takes place in this college such as freshers called as "Abhigrah" to welcome freshers then the next event is "Parikalpana" a event organized by our college technical club "Techniche" it is basically a technical exhibition. Then the next event is a cultural fest,then another technical event by technice club known as "Sankalp". Then at last there is a sports event known as "Rampage" in this event all type of games are held such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis,etc. Concluding our year with a farewell at the end of even semester.

Fee for all the courses are different like for marine engineering and hospitality management its pretty high, and for engineering it is feasible around 51000 as tution fee and for hostellers 35000 for hostel and bus charges for the day scholar's if opted.

There are many scholarships available for the students to avail. Students are given scholarships as per their merit. Then other scholarships provided by governments can also be availed. To avail the scholarships the criteria is to get more than 65% in there board exams and a cgpa of 6. 5 in all semesters.

There are many activities that takes place in this campus such as games like basketball, volleyball, badminton,table tennis, cricket, football, swimming. All games are available for both boys and girls. A coach is even provided for all games. There is a gym available in campus for the students.

Hostel infrastructure is pretty good as for a building this old and there is many facilities like wifi all across the campus and the rooms are even in a good condition and well ventilated. Hot water is available during winters. Each room occupies 2 students.

Seniors in this college are too frank and helpful. They are always available to help any jouniors in need. There is no scene for any kind of ragging as said it is a ragging free campus. Most of the alumni from this college are now working in some well reputated companies.

Admission to this college for me was through my wbjee rank. This college offer's many courses like CSE, ECE, mechanical engineering,bio technology,marine engineering and BNS,etc. I selected to persue CSE because my aim is to be a computer science engineer.

Faculties in our college are frank enough they like to interact with the students and trys gives there best, and all the faculties are well qualified,and have a good knowledge of the subject the teach.
