The most positive thing you can get in the college is the environment of the college. It is completely natural environment surrounded by trees and lakes and different types of flowers. The academic section is not far from the hostel. So its good to not miss the classes because you're late. There are two buses that runs at the time of classes to pick IP the students to their classes. Here various type of festival of college is celebrates like Tecnoisis(technical fest), Incandescence (cultural fest). Students from different parts of the country come to participate here. The negative thing is the location of the college. It is located in a hilly area. The train here runs at an average speed of 27-30 km/h. So you have to wait a lot to reach there while in the train.

There are 8 semesters(4 years) for the B. Tech course. Everyone has to pass the each semester for the degree. In each semester(6 months), a student has to appear major exams, one after 2 or 3 months, and other after the end of 6 months. In between the two exams, there is a minor test which each student must appear. The grading system here is absolute not relative. So every student must perform of their own. In the first year of the course, every study are taught the subjects of all disciplines so that if required they can make use of the the same in their own course.

The placement and job opportunities in the college is quite satisfactory. You can get an average package more than 6 lakhs per annum. CSE and ECE people get 100% placement (generally) with a job offer of more than 130%. The companies that offer Higher packages are Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Goibibo etc. Regarding internships, to get a B. Tech degree, a student must have a minimum of 90 days internships exposures. Most students get paid internship. For the regulation of same, college has its Training and placement Cell.

The events that are celebrated here as a part of college program are Tecnoisis(annual technical festival), Incandescence (annual cultural festival). During these days, different types of workshops, technical competition, and cultural competition are conducted to enhance the skill of the students taking parts in it. Beside it, Diwali, saraswati pooja and Durga Pooja are also celebrated here.

The fees structure here is good and flexible. If It is based on your family income as per government regulations. So your can get a relaxation in fees if your family is unable to bear the cost of your studies. Every one has to to pay the Hostel fees of their own. No relaxation in the same.

The scholarship offered by the college is the relaxation in the academic fees. If your family income is below 1 lakhs, you'll get full relaxation on the academic fees. However, if your family income is between 1 and 5 lakhs, you'll have to pay one third of the academic fees. If above 5, you must pay full fees. I have availed the first one i. e. , family income less than 1 lakhs.

The cultural of sports is very excellent in NIT Silchar. Every year inter NIT sports are organized for the students of NIT to take part in that and enhance the skills in the sports. Both boys and girls take part actively in the sports programs. There are various clubs for each sports.

The hostel that was opted by me is The Aryabhatta Hostel. It has a capacity of 600 students, each room shared by 2 students. Sometimes you can get students from the same branch in the same room, sometimes from different.

The seniors here are very helpful. From the first day to next 3 years, they will be with us, and whenever you're in any kind of problem, may be academics, or any suggestion, they'll give you the right suggestions and always work for their junior. They conduct various types of workshops, events to make juniors learn.

The college is of a national importance. So only a few people get chance to study here. For the same a entrance exam is conducted nationwide (even international students can appear the same) and after the exam, the students who qualify get admission based on merit. The top branches you can choose to study is CSE and Electronic. So, I chose electronic and communication Engineering

The faculties here are much qualified and energetic. They are always there to clear any type of your doubt. They also motivate every student to do well. They are also carrying their research work. Many have begged prestigious awards for their research works.
