IITR a well balance of academics and social life

IITR is overall really good considering academic and co curricular factors into consideration i would give it a 8/10 score overall. Apart from academic excellence and high placement percentage the social life here is very happening with a lot of events, fests and co-curricular events spread throughout the year.

Electrical Engineer ing corse in my opinion is a little outdated and boring but that's highly subjective it depends on your personal interests and passion. As of Rxa structure we have 2 exams in a semester mid terms with 25% weightage and End terms with 75% weithage generally and remaining 25% weightage is based on tutorails, class performance and labs, but it can deviate a little according to different subjects and professors.

Placement and Internship percentage is really high and impressive in IIT Roorkee, this year around 900 students enrolled for the placement process and around 750-800 of them are already placed in the first phase of the process and hopefully others will be placed in the second phase. All the big companies and startups visited the campus and provided quute handsome package, the average package of Electrical branch was approximately around 15 LPA.

Once a year we velebrate Thomso our cultural fest which is one of the best in all colleges in India, apart from that once a year we have Cognizance our annual tevhnical fest, then there is Shrishti a fest organised to display the work of all clubs of IITR like Arts section, Robotics section etc. , Sangram is our annual Sports fest. Apart from all that every year we have inter IIT Cultural fest, inter IIT technical fest, inter IIT Sports meet etc.

Fee structure is a bit on the expensive side around 2. 5 Lakhs per year but there is is some percentage concession based on your family's annual income so stufents withelittle weak financial background can easily afford the fees of IITR by showing required documents and getting there concession i the fees.

Fee concessiins are given to students who comes from a weak financial background and concessiins on the basis of caste reservations to OBC,SC/STs are also given but apart from that atleast i'm not aware of any scholarships provided by IITR to anyone taking admission in Btech programme. Loans are generally easily available from any banks for afmission in IITs furthermore many banks like SBI,PNB etc. set up their camps in the campus at the time of admission to give out loans to whoever needs it and has proper documentation, during the time of admission also we are provided forms for request of loans from banks and the process is made really simple according to me.

Gender ratio is one thing that is really poor in IITR i must say, although due to some percentage reservation to girls started from previous year situation is improving now. As of extra curricular activities are awesome here in IITR apart from all the events throughout the semester, there are well equipped labs in every department be it electrical, me hanical, chemical etc. and we have really good and well maintained grounds and clubs for all the sports including Footbll, Cricket, Volleyball, Tennis,Swimming etc.

Hostels are really satisfactory. In first year some people will get sharing room and some will get individual rooms but from second year onwards all students will have there individual separate rooms. Bathrooms in hostels are common but they are clean and proper cleaning of floors, bathrooms is assured everyday. Almost all hostels have lush greenery in the parks and proper Badminton, volleyball and ball games courts so it's pretty good here.

Seniors were really helpful in my first few months of college we have had events like intro talks with our immediate seniors, branch seniors and there are lots of cultural and technical groups you can join to interact with your seniors with similar interests. Apart from that there are mentorship programs where each senior is appointed as a mentor to 4-5 juniors and conducts meet and greets with them on regural intervls to guide them and clear any of their doubts regarding literally anything be it social life, academics, hostel problems etc.

First you have to clear JEE Mains with more than 75% in 12 th boards with science stream and then you are allowed to sit in the JEE Advance exam where according to your score your All India Rank is generated (AIR) on which basis you are given admission in different IITs.

Faculty in IIT Roorkee is highly qualified and highly knowledgeable in their respective firlds but the teaching scheme and methods is a little texious and hectic in my opinion, Professors are always available to clear gour doubts if you are interested but i don't personally think the faculty members are able to generate to create interest and make courses fun for students, apart from some really good professors who does that.
