Best College in India

Maximum things were positive and negative things were few. Negative things included the burden in the first year. They had to learn 8 subjects each semester. Many positive things included an easy environment for students.

Excellent Research Environment and I got 2 Research Papers published. There was 2 hours of lab everyday but you can work as much as you want. Two exams in each semester. It was pretty chilled. Total 4-5 hours of time to spend in department and lab.

There were adequate job opportunities at my college. From my class, around 24 placed out of 42 students. College also provided for an internship with or without an internship. Many students also got foreign Internships. Companies like Google and Microsoft came on the very first day. Also, companies like TCS also came and recruited around 20 students.

We celebrated Thomso Cultural festival every year in October and there were many Technical Festival in College. In Thomso there were around 2500 participants participating in various events. Actually, it was the biggest event in IIT Roorkee.

The fee was 48000 for One year and scholarships were given to SC, ST, and other OBC students who were in the non creamy layer. Overall the fee was feasible and for the SC/ST students, the 50% fee was refunded.

There were various good scholarships and loans offered and provided by the college. Banks like SBI and Punjab National Bank provided for good loans and various scholarships for SC/ST and OBC students of noncreamy layer.

For Extracurricular activities, there were many org like NSS AND NSO. NSS provided free social services like free education and clothes for poor people in the area around college. NSO provided for various sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball and also swimming and squash.

Overall the facilities were good. 24-hour electricity and Repair and Electrician available 24 hours a day. In the first year, the room was in sharing with other one student, and from the second year, onwards single room was allocated for everyone.

There were many senior students who talked very politely and helped in doing various works. There were many programs held every year to bring alumni to the college. They participated in various events and their motivation kept us going.

I took the IIT ENTRANCE EXAM and then the admission process in Main Building and hostels were allotted based on your Branch. I chose Biotechnology because I always wanted to learn Biology related things. I would have chosen Computer Science if I had an option.

Faculties were well qualified and multiple subjects were taught by single faculties. In fact, they were all-rounder in their field. For Example , My teacher Bijon Choudhury taught 3 subjects and also he took the labs himself.
