The NIT Calicut is well known for its ragging. There are certain forms filled by students during admission for ragging-free campus but they are of no use. Even faculty knows the happening ragging on the campus, they do nothing.

The course curriculum is student-friendly and the best way of teaching. The exam structure includes 2 semesters in a year, with a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam per semester. This structure of exams and curriculum is very friendly for students and also enables us to get some research activities done.

The placements and job opportunities are great till now. NIT Calicut provides internships to the right students. Companies such as Qualcomm, TCS, Cisco, Axis, etc are coming for placements. The experienced could not be told by me as I am a 1st first-year student and I am just coping with the professional course of my stream.

Technical fest- Tathva Cultural fest. - Ragam There is also an annual fest organized by the School of Management studies and MCA of NITC. These events are the biggest of all events in South India. There is a large crowd during these events and also active participation in all events.

The fee structure is pretty decent. The average fee of the B.Tech. program would be around 2.5 lakhs for the 4 years. The other program fees are also feasible. Since all national institutes have different fees for the respective income criteria, it has helped a lot of students to pursue studies in NITC.

The college provides a scholarship program for the students which is funded by the alumni of NITC. The scholarship is termed as SREC SJET scholarship Programme. in this program around 32 scholarships are included each having different criteria.

The reach of extracurricular activities in NITC is very good. There are many clubs, cultural, technical, welfare, and many more. The labs of NITC are up to the mark having great machines and the updated instruments.

Hostel infrastructure is great. There are many trees grown inside a hostel in NITC. the rooms are four sharing in the first year, 2 sharing in the second year, 2 or 4 sharing in the third year, and single sharing in the fourth year. The facilities are great. There are water geysers for hot bathing water, 24-hour water, and electricity.

The interaction with seniors and alumni proves to be great always. Once I had stayed with seniors for a night during our Ganapati preparations. The senior explained every single thing about the college which helped me living and facing the problems occurring boldly on the campus.

I got admission to NIT Calicut through the entrance exam of JEE mains. I chose NIT Calicut because it was the best option among what I can get and it is also one of the top NITs in India. Since the college is in Kerala, the weather also remains decent throughout the year.

The faculty of NIT Calicut has great respect in India. The faculty is great here. Most of the faculty is IIT graduated and many of them are having some researches or papers published which increases their reputation all over the world.
