Remarks
Every college has its own pros and cons but I think what matters is how you make the best out of it. I am about to complete my 4 years and for me, everything went pretty well.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. You get exposure to every sort in Mechanical Engineering. We have this workshop, Labs etc. We get experiential learning which allows us to explore concepts on our own. For every subject, the lab is there to give a practical approach. Industrial visits were organized as well.
Placement Experience
The placement department of our college is very good. Companies like Microsoft, IBM, Google, Infosys, TATA Technologies, Phillips etc have been recruiting students. The college trains you on how to make Resumes, how to clear interviews, GDs etc to give students confidence.
College Events
Like every college, we also have several events taking place every year. We have our cultural fest, Techfest in which almost every participates from our college as well as from outside. We have a diverse group of people around us which makes events like these even better.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is a number of payment modes. DD, NEFT, online etc. Also, if you get good marks, you will become eligible to avail scholarship which will obviously reduce the fees. The fees have been pretty much the same past 4 years. You have to bring a DD during the admission process to confirm your slot.
Fees and Financial Aid
College offers a scholarship for students who excel in academics part. For every branch, scholarships are there.
Campus Life
Campus life is great. You meet a lot of people from different parts of our country. As Symbiosis is an international university, you find people from another country as well. There are events taking place every year. Sports competition are conducted for each sport. You can get into the team and even represent your college in Inter symbiosis and further at the state level or even more. For Mechanical, there is also a GoKart team that participates in different competitions as well.
Alumni/Alumna
In college life, you need to have a good relationship with seniors. In our college, seniors are pretty helpful and because of that relation, everything becomes a bit easier.
Admission
The admission process was very simple and easy. I gave the SET exam in around March or April and after a month, results were given. Afterwards, we got a mail from SIT about admission process and dates which were in JUNE. The admission process was done in a very efficient way possible. There was no confusion of any sorts. Students were called based on their 12th marks and SET scores. After selecting the choice of Field, we got our admission letters within an hour or so. Overall, it was about 4-5 hours process which was good.
Faculty
We have a great faculty with lots of experience under their cap. They are graduates from IIT Bombay and some of them are pursuing their Ph. Ds as well. They always give a lot of information and clears all our doubts. Qualification wise and Knowledge wise, I think they are very well above par.
