SIT Review

SIT always aims for the overall development of the student. Not only studies but also on their soft skills and personality.

SIT offers you B.Tech courses in 4 fields (CS/IT, E&TC, CIVIL and MECHANICAL). SIT being a deemed university conducts its own examination. The curriculum is versatile providing every opportunity to the students to explore themselves. Students are encouraged to pursue the projects in the latest advancement of technology and also to build up habits like writing a research paper on the same.

Companies like Google, Vodafone, Sokrati, Philips, Capgemini, Amazon etc have visited the colleges for placement drives. The steps followed in recruitment drives are Shortlisting students based on CGPA's. Releasing the date of online test. List of shortlisted students. Hiring interviews. Hiring the students on the basis of the interview.

Reverb (cultural fest) and Techfest (Technical fest) are the events celebrated in our college. Reverb includes cultural activities like dancing, singing, drama, fashion show etc with students participating from different colleges in Pune with different cash prizes for the winners. In Techfest we have different technical activities organised by all 4 departments. People from different colleges participate in this fest as well with a footfall of around 200 students.

The annual fee is around 2.3L excluding the hostel fees. In the beginning, one needs to pay the deposit of 25,000 which is returned at the end of the course. The college provides complete transparency in the fee breakdown giving students the details of fee structure for every semester.

The college does provide the provision of education loan and scholarships. Though I have never applied for the same. But if you're in the top 1 percentile of your course you can avail the scholarship provided by the college.

Students diversity is at its peak at SIT. Students from all over the globe study here with peace and harmony. There are many clubs for students to collaborate with like the 'Varsity' 'Mesa', 'Literature society' and many more. 'PROTA' is the sports event at SIT with students of all the 4 branches competing against each other for the best team trophies.

The alumni network of SIT is vast. Our seniors are very helpful in keeping us updated about their industrial experience and guiding us whenever we need them.

For getting admission in SIT, one needs to give SET entrance test. Apply for the SET entrance test before the deadline. The counselling date will be released. According to your cutoff marks the seats will be assigned to you in respective branches. If you still don't get the seat in your desired branch, then you can apply for the waiting list. The waiting list is released in a month and so and then and you get an acceptance letter from the college. On induction day, come with your acceptance letter to confirm your admission at SIT.

Some of the courses in one semester are 4 credits while others are 3 credits course. The 4 credit courses are assigned 60 lecture while the 3 credit ones are assigned 45 lectures. Each faculty is dedicated towards their job giving students notes on each chapter for a deep understanding of the same. Some of these lectures are assigned as "Experiential Learning" where the Student needs to study the topic on their own by referring books, online videos and research papers.
