Life at SIT

Symbiosis not only provides quality education but it also has very good management. The examination department, the admin office, the library all of them are very efficient. All our issues get resolved immediately.

The course is well thought out and planned. We have 8 semesters and each semester has around 6-7 subjects. Each subject has an internal exam and a written end semester exam. The subjects which required practical knowledge had a practical exam as well. The subjects were taught keeping industry perspective in mind. And all subjects had an experimental learning component which helped us better understand the subjects.

I did my internship from H@ckedemist which is a cyber security-based start-up in Pune. I was given this opportunity by the college itself. The placement cell did a very good job of bringing companies to the college for internships. Not only for internships but for job placements as well. We had some of the biggest companies coming to recruit students this year. Some of them are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Vodafone, Optum etc.

We have an annual techfest where the students of different branches compete with each other and show their technical skills. We have different sports activities throughout the year. Some of them are football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, table tennis. We have an annual inter-branch athletics competition called Prota. We also have a cultural fest where students show their talents. All these events have outstanding participation from students.

The free structure for SIT is very reasonable for the kind of education they are providing. Along with academics, we have many extracurricular activities. We have a beautiful campus with a football ground, a basketball ground, volleyball ground and many other facilities. The fees vary for each semester however the college provides a fee-breakdown.

I did not opt for a scholarship or an education loan. However, the college does provide a scholarship for deserving students.

Symbiosis has a diverse culture. There are students from all over the world which helps us learn about the cultures of different countries as well. The labs on the campus are huge. We have different labs for different subjects and all labs have internet access. Competitions are held throughout the year with active participation from students.

During the orientation week, we had some of the alumni visiting us and telling us about their life at SIT. They shared their experiences with us. They also shared their contact information with us so we could contact them in case we needed any help. They also visited us before our placements started and told us how to prepare for interviews and what subjects are important when it comes to placements.

Symbiosis institute of Technology is one of the best engineering colleges in Pune. It stands at first rank in the top emerging private colleges in Pune. Symbiosis is well known not only in India but in other countries as well. This is the reason why I chose this institute. I got admission through my SET score. After receiving my exam score I went for the admission process which happens in the college in the month of June.

The department has a very competent faculty. The faculty is actively engaged in research and publications in the field of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and other emerging technology fields. The senior teachers have a PhD and some of the teachers are pursuing their PhD now. They have deep knowledge about the subjects so they teach them very well.
