Being one of the best colleges in India, the course structure was well designed such that student learns subject more interestingly. The laboratories and students' exposure to them enhance the students' interest. And the facilities provided by the college are at their best and exposure to various industries and factories through industrial tours encourage students towards researches.

Generally, undergraduate students do their internships after the 6th semester. A good number of companies offer internships for the students providing students the experience of working in industries and factories. Also, students who are interested in other fields such as coding, business administration, etc, are also provided internships by various companies.

IIT Roorkee organizes various fests in which various IITs and other colleges participate.IIT Roorkee's organizes the cultural fest "THOMSO", one of the biggest cultural fests in North India inviting various colleges for participation. Our institute also hosts the biggest technical fest in North India, "COGNIZANCE". Various workshops, guest lectures, and competitions such as RC car races, Robotics, etc are organized during this fest. And an Annual Social Summit is held in the institute to establish entrepreneurship qualities in students.

Generally, the program tuition fee for a four-year bachelor's degree is approximately Rs.800000 excluding hostel and mess fees.But for students from SC & ST community and economically poor background(family income less than Rs.100000), the tution fee is waived. And for students whose family income is less than Rs.500000,two-third of the tution fee is waived. Institute accepts fee through online payment, demand draft. There is no fee charged to secure admission in the institute as students are taken only through the entrance exam. Yes, the college provides transparency in fee-breakdown.

Yes, the Institute provides scholarships to students. But the scholarships are limited to students from economically poor backgrounds and from SC & ST communities.

The gender ratio in IIT Roorkee is so less. But the necessary steps are taken by the management in increasing the gender ratio. The campus consists of various groups. Good sports facilities such as athletic track, cricket pitch, and nets, basketball, swimming pool, etc are provided by the institute. There is a students' club for recreation which consists of billiards, snooker,table tennis, carroms,ps 4, etc. For technical groups,SAc building was built.

Yah, Seniors, and alumini help the new entrants as well as the students in academics and shaping out the students' future. The mentors the students in both professional and personal matters.

I got admission to IIT Roorkee by qualifying in the JEE Advanced examination.I chose Mechanical Engineering as I was passionate about automobiles and large working machines. And I chose IIT Roorkee for its outstanding excellence in shaping out the engineers. Being one of the top engineering colleges in India known best for civil and mechanical engineering, I chose IIT Roorkee. To get admission into the institute, I had cleared JEE Mains and got eligibility for writing JEE Advanced. On qualifying for JEE Advanced with a good All India Rank, I got admission in IIT Roorkee.

The number of lectures per course depends on the number of credits allotted to that course. For a 4 credit course, there will be 3 lectures,1 tutorial, and 1 laboratory class in a week. And the Professor who teaches the course guides the students in solving and understanding the subject in a tutorial class. He also accompanies the students during their laboratory and industry visits. The professors assigned for teaching the courses have 10-30 years of experience in teaching.
