IIT ROORKEE is a very clean college and the environment of the college is very good. Roads made each year and college surrounded by trees and grass. IIT Roorkee was the first engineering college in India. it's old name was J. J. THOMSON college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure was very good. every course has two parts. one is theoretical and the other is practical. The practical lab was very clean and available for every required instrument. In practical lab wearing shoes is compulsory.
Placement Experience
Yes, placement and internship provided by the college. every year 50-70 companies visit to IIT ROORKEE for placement and internship. Around 50-60 % of students got placement and internship through college. 90% of students got placed from electrical.
College Events
Thomso was the most famous festival in IIT ROORKEE. it was celebrated in the month of December. Thomso has many parts like dance, song, sports, and other activities. Many other colleges visit IIT ROORKEE to see Thomso.
Fee Structure And Facilities
IIT ROORKEE is the most expensive college in India. The annual fee is around 80000-90000. College provided some scholarships for scheduled Tribe and scheduled cast. But for General category students it was very expensive.
Campus Life
IIT ROORKEE was known for the best labs and sports grounds. there were 2 cricket grounds, 1 hockey ground and 1 football ground. for table tennis and pool a place reserved called Student club. For every practical subject, a Lab allotted.
Alumni/Alumna
A site developed by IIT ROORKEE for alumni. where each year passes out students can join. and for each student college provide an Alumni card. An Alumni cardholder can visit any time at IIT ROORKEE. so it will be good for alumni.
Admission
I passed the JEE entrance exam in 2013 and I got a chance to choose college and subject merit wise. I preferred electrical engineering because of my interest. Admission depends on the rank you got in the JEE entrance exam.
Faculty
for every subject or course have a separate professor. Every Professor was fully educated. Professor was very nice in theory and practical. there were two types of lectures. one was online and the other was offline.
