IIT Bhubaneswar review

Teaching has to improve.2nd phase construction underway. Infrastructure is decent and will get better after the construction.Many things have to improve and will get better.I have mentioned most things in the above questions already.

Course circulum is lagging behind in the CSE department. There could many more relevant CSE courses but instead we are offered a lot of ECE courses. Faculty number for CSE is also less than required.There is a innovation centre for those interested. They help students with what they require. The days are not very hectic. They are quite manageable.we have 2 or 3 lab courses each semester.

Placements are pretty decent.there are a lot more IT companies that are coming.the number of companies going up every year.companies like microsoft, Goldman Sachs,de Shaw,etc visit our campus for placements and internships.yes we have to do an intern after 3rd year. I have to do one this summer.

Our college has alma the cultural fest,wissenaire the technical fest,esummit the entrepreneural meet.They have a long way to go when compared to old IITs. Participation is relatively less.Various festivals like Diwali, Holi, etc are also celebrated.

Fee including tuition and hostel is around 1,30,000 rupees for a general category Student per semester.1,16,000 Rs odd is tution fee.rest is hostel fee. You can get various scholarships based on the income of the family. There is also a tie up with sbi for education loans.

Scholarships such as Full fee waiver or partial are given. Students also get some money based on the scholarship programme which you get based on your cgpa and family income.you can also get a loan from sbi.

Gender ratio is very much in favour of boys.sports are present and encouraged but have a long way to go. There are various technical and cultural societies that students can be a part of like dance, singing, coding, robotics, etc.Everyone is treated equally and none is discriminated on any basis. Labs are present and have decent facilities. Many buildings are being built and so many new facilities will come up.

Hostel costs around 15K per semester. The rooms are individual.Everyone is allowed a hostel room.Each room has a cot,light,fan.other basic necessities can be bought in the campus. The food is decent when compared to most hostels.

Since the college is only 11 years old the alumni network is still not that strong. But the network is growing every year. We have a few alumni metres and conferences every now and then.we have a councelling service team which constitutes the seniors who help the newly admitted students with their admission process and ease them into the college atmosphere. This helped me as well.

I got admission in IIT Bhubaneswar after craving JEE mains and advanced. I got a rank of 2531 in JEE advanced. There is no interview. Josaa takes care of admission process. U should go to one of the center's they specify to get some documents checked. I could have got other branches in old IITs but since i wanted CSE i choose IIT Bhubaneswar.

The no of faculty is less than required and teaching standards are pretty average in the CSE department. Mechanical department has very good profs.Few faculty are good even in the CSE department.There is scope for lot of improvement.
