IIT - A Dream Institute

IIT Roorkee is one of the best engineering institutes of India. The college is best in terms of all fields whether it be academics, sports, placement, internship, etc. Also the faculties and seniors here are quite helpful.

In IIT the course structures are well designed and are aimed at co holistic development of student. Every semester we have some practical courses as well as theory courses. Almost three days in a week is hectic and the rest are not so hectic.

The placement stats of IIT Roorkee is one of the best among all IITs and also among other premium engineering institutes. For the past two consecutive years, the highest package grabbed by our students has been more than 1.5 crores. Almost all students who sit for placement get placed with a good salary. A large number of students get internships from our college in their 3rd and 4th year(except few in their 2nd year). Since I am now in the first year I have not got an intern till now but hoping to get it in my second or third year.

There are various major events celebrated 8n our college. Thomso our cultural festival is the biggest cultural festival in North India. It has a large number of events and a large number of celebrity comes in those events. It is a three-day event. Students from outside college also participate in the events.

Fee Structure is very much feasible. The average fee is 3 lac per annum. Many students get a large number of financial scholarship which reduce their fee. For those who face difficulty in paying fees, there are various loan facilities provided by the campus bank present in our college.

IIT Roorkee provides numerous scholarships for various students studying there. The scholarships are based on different criteria such as academics, sports, financial help, and many more. Inside the campus, there are two banks (SBI and PNB) that provide easy loan facilities for students studying there.

In IIT Roorkee each department has numerous labs for research and also for practicals of students. They are 3 big playgrounds for outdoor games and a large number of small playgrounds in each hostel. Also, there are students club for playing indoor games such as chess, TT, Snooker, Pool etc.

The average fee of the hostel is around 35000 and it is included in the overall fee structure. Since the number of students who get admission in our college is almost fixed so there is no problem for accommodation in the hostel. Every student has to live in a hostel atleast in their first year.

The alumni network of our college is very widespread and strong. The students are our colleges are spread in and around the globe from the highest delegates of the country to the finance sector to the entertainment sector and much more. Due to such a vast network, our college has IARC (Institute Alumni Relation Cell) to maintain a strong relationship between present students and the alumni.

For gaining admission into the IIT one has to successfully pass two exams IIT JEE Mains and IIT JEE Advance and also should have marks above 75% in board exams of class 12. Once you have cleared both the exams you will go through a counseling round and then you will get admission.

Faculties at IIT are well qualified. They teach students in such a way that students start gaining interest in the subject(although not all). If any student develops more interest than the professor also gives the opportunity to do a research project with him.
