Remarks

Extracurricular activities are way too less compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The syllabus is relatively difficult and the college is deemed and autonomous. The lectures will be the same people who creates question papers. The lectures are purely theoretical accompanied with laboratory session which focuses on the experimental part. On campus placements are rare since most of the students are absorbed by the parent organization ISRO itself. An Industrial visit is also there during the secind year of the four year program.

Placement Experience

2.5

Ford, Mercedes, ISRO provides placement. Internship opportunities are available within the campus on the topics Aerospace engineering, Computer networking, Machine learning, Deep learning, Power electronics, Antenna theory, Control systems, Air flow dynamics etc. About 90% of the students are placed by different companies each year. The companies conducts interviews inside the campus and provides placement based on the academic performance and the interview scores combined.

College Events

1

College celebrates a lot of festivals since it is in India(Land of lots of festivals). Regional festivals like onam, pongale etc and national festivals like holi, ganapathi pooja etc are celebrated by students. Hundreds of students participate in each festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course admission is purely based on the Jee Adv exam ranklist. No money can give you admission into the college. The total fee for a 6 month semester is 48400 including hostel and tuition fee. It is not really expensive when compared to other colleges in India.

Fees and Financial Aid

The whole expenses including tution fee and hostel expenses are provided by the college as scholarship if a student acquires a gpa of 7.5 each semester.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is better in the sense of quality of living and infrastructure. Social life inside campus is very less because of the less number of students. Everyone should reside inside the campus. Gender ratio is really less. Boy:girl will be around 1:12. Labs are really high quality since the college curriculum focuses on the technical part of engineering. Workshops provided by the aerospace club are really interesting. The campus has a strict no politics policy.

Hostel Facilities

2

Everyone should stay inside campus hostels. The hostel rooms and bathourooms are really clean. The hostel seats are never full since everyone stays in hostel and so there are enough room for all. The rentals are free under scholarship.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is rather dull due to the fact that there are very less admissions per year for each course. So the total number of alumni is also less.

Admission

Based on the ranklist of Jee Adv. Apply on IIST's website to be included in the admission list and procedures. Go to IIST website and provide your Jee adv details(Name and other relevant details) during may-june. A new ranklist will be published in IIST's website within a month. The selection is purely based in merit. The councelling procedures will be within the campus itself located at Trivandrum, Kerala.

Faculty

2.5

They are available thourough email or they can be contacted thourough phone. For lecture related doubts, they will be available inside the campus during working hours and later though the above mentioned methods. The contact details of faculties are provided in the college website.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
