The college management is good they provide you with many facilities like there is a college bus which goes to the town every evening as the campus is far from town. There is a hospital in college itself with 24 hour available doctor. The campus is very large, with may places to walk around, there are beautiful lakes.

As i was in civil engineering department, i can tell you that faculty of civil department are good, they provide you with enough knowledge that is going to help you in future. The labs are also equipped with apprataus that will be helpful for understanding the basic concepts and how things are to be done in site as working as a professional. campus placement is quite good in civil if one has a decent cgpa and little bit of knowledge of core subject he can secure a good placement as there are many opportunities ti grab.

For civil branch the placement is good, for cs and mech the placement is far better. Companies which visited campus for civil department are Rvnl Nhidcl Accenture Mahindra tech L&t Mu sigma Oil india Before a company visit campus one has to register for seating for interview for filling the google form provided in placement link. (which is on facebook and the group link is sent to every body before placement begins). After that you have to prepare for company like about the comapny, its project, location and other information that could easily be gather on google or by wisting company's website. After company arrives them they will have group discussions(elemination round) And interview(of students selected from gd) to select the students. After interview the result is declare on that day itself or on next day. If any body feels he can go to placement department for his queries or any help one can contact the teachers in department which can provide help without any difficulty.

There is techinal fest celebrated every year in month of August-September called Technisis is held, where there are many events like quiz, workshops, gd, debate, presentations, gaming are held and top winners are provided with cash prizes. It goes around for a week. There are also department quiz weekend which is also held. In month of feb-March a cultural event called Incand is held where many know artists comes and perform and also some college student also performs. Its runs for around 4 days where every night different artist perform.

For admission there is some extra fees which is kept as a security money which has to be given only first time then onwards only semester and mess fees has to be given. The security fee after the end of 4 years is returned fully into your bank account if you have not done any damage to college property else after adjusting the amt, the remainder is returned. Per semester fees is around 40k which incudes tuition fees. And there are total 8 semesters in 4 year duration course. There extra hostel fees which comprises of mess fees around 12,000. Fee has to deposited thourough sbi chalan (there is sbi bank branch within the campus ). Yes there is transparency in fee breakdown. All the fees information can also be easily accessed thourough the nit silchar website under the tab admission.

Yes there was some scholarship for students whose family income was below 2 lakhs. To avail the scholarship you have to talk in the administration department and they will give you the form and provide you with various scholarships opportunities that one can avail.

Male to female ratio was very high around 30:1. Students are free to move freely in campus only girls were restricted who can't go outside hostel after 21:00. Every hostel has one guard and cctv are installed in every hostel. There was many games in each hostel there was recreational room which has a tv with dish which can bw watched on any time, hostel have good broadband fibre lines which gives you a speed of around 50mbs. Each celebrate every festival like diwali, holi, bihu, janmashtami, Chouristmas, new year. There were inter hostel matches in football, cricket, chess, volleyball,etc.

Yes i have opted for hostel. For first year you have to share with one of your friend or you can opt for single room but single room are limited so they are provided according to one's rank in jee mains. Then in second year you are shifted to new hostel where there are 3 people in one room In 3rd year on basis of your cgpa some students are provided with single room and remaining student have same arrangement as was in 2nd year. in 4th year every one is provided with single room. Facilities in room per student - 1 chair 1 table 1 cupboard for book and clothes. There are common water coolers for students on each floor of hostel. The hostel fee was around 12k.

There are many Alumni of nit silchar whixh are placed in many good companies ans on top position. They are very helpful. As i wanted to prepare for upsc so i consulted with my seniors about how the scenario in delhi about coaching, expenses, living facilities, hostels, pg and many more. And they were quite helpful and also gave me a place to stay in delhi untill i find pg or rent a room.

To get into college you have to give Jee-MAINS and secure a rank within 30k. After that you go thourough counseling and as per your rank in exam the various department in Nits are provided. There are around 3 rounds held in which the college seats are provided. After getting the college seat you can lock the seat or can opt for further rounds if not satisfied with the offered seat. Jee mains exam is held in April every year.

Every semester has around 6 subject which are taught by different faculty. Most of the faculty are 40+ have done phd from foreign universities. Some of the faculty are in collaboration with govt project that are going around the area so they can provide you with what now is expected of an civil engineering and what we could explore.
