College review

The course curriculum of DIT university (B.Tech-EE) is as per UGC guidelines. The curriculum is good and is as per the needs of today's industry. Some of the subjects taught in 4 years are: Electrical Machines, Power electronics, network analysis, power systems, control systems etc. The workshops for these subjects are conducted in the college and also software training is provided. Labs are of-course available and well equipped. Summer and Winter semesters are held in the college.

Placement opportunities are good. Companies that come on campus are Adobe, Amazon, IBM, Google etc for campus placement with an average package of 4-5 lakhs. College does not provide internships however, Since internships are a part of curriculum they need to be considered by students on their own.

The techfest of DITU is named as Youthopia. Every year the number of participation varies but most colleges of the state do participate in the techfest. Various technical as well as cultural events are held. Many workshops and seminars are arranged in this fest where many distinguished people present their work. Originated with the sole aim of enhancing technical skills and promoting creativity among the students. This 3 day festival is set to be the most exhilarating experience for the youth.

The hostel infrastructure is good. The rooms are well equipped. Single and sharing rooms both are available. The food and also the rooms are quite good. Facilities at hostels include wifi, AC, bed, cupboard, chair, table, fan, mess facilities.The capacity for boys hostel is 1200.

I got admission based on my JEE score. Cutoff varies year on year which I dont remember. The admission process of DIT university is as follows: i) Merit based counseling on rank of Joint Entrance Examination(JEE). ii) Direct Admission for XII Std Board Toppers (See Remarks)- 10% Seats.

The faculty at DIT University is quite passionate when it comes to teaching methodologies. They are well experienced and also have adequate industry related experiences. The faculties are specialized in Electrical Engineering with an experience of 15-25 years. Guest lectures are often held in college by visiting faculties. They do represent work outside college.
