The college has a low amount eating and hangout places within the campus and the hostels are far from thr academic area. The architecture jere is world class with all technological facilities provided within. There is a world class library with upto 8 floors that is a great aesthetic workplace.

Course curriculum is similar to that of trinity university dublin. The course follows credit system based on relative marking. The course decided by the departments is well enough to understand the fundamentals of engineering. The college starts with basic subjects and then advances to complex numerical subjects. The whole curriculum also includes one project semester internship necessary for the basic understanding of an industry. For research work, there is a research project of one year during the final year where all the fundamentals of engineering and research are required to construct a project that could bring advancement in a particular field. The exams are done twice per semester, Mid sems and End sems, the mid sems usually have a weightage of 25% meanwhile end sems have a weightage of 45%. The rest 30% is internal marking which include projects, lab work, lab viva, Tutorial tests and assignments.

The placement for Computer science, Electornics, Electronics and Computers, Mechanical is great. Huge number of companies visit the campus to recruit students from these streams mostly. Big tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Deloitte, Oyo, Amedeus, reliance, Jp morgan & chase, De shaw, Isro, panasonic, texas instruments, tata, bajaj, maruti, axis bank, capejemini, L&T, iocl, addverb, amdocs have visited the campus for internships and job placements. For internships, the company offers 6 month intern on variable stipened. I got an internship of 6 months in Godrej and Boyce. Mfg. Co. Ltd mohali. The company didn't provide any stipened but helped me gain experience of refrigeration industry. I learned everything regarding refrigerator manufacturing and quality control. Carried out numerous projects with the company that required my technical knowledge learnt during engineering.

Thapar food festival, Kaleidoscope- annual art exhibition, Saturnalia- annual cultural fest, Orion- Tech fest, art competitions. These are main fests of the campus woth about 2-3000 students and faculty in attendance. These fests indulge students in co curricular activities and have huge participation in them. The societies of the college hold these fests and put hardwork in making the whole event a success. Urja is a sporting/atheletic event here in college where 1000+ students take part and win cash prize along with medallions. The food festival is a collaborative event between restourants and the college to offer various kinds of dishes all in one place. There are mudra nites, virsa fests that offer dancing and singing talents a platform to utilise their skills. These events are watched by the whole campus and faculty.

The fee structure is expensive 1. The tuition fees for one semester is about 1. 5 lak upto 1. 7lakh 2. The hostel fees varies from 36000 to 47000 depending upon the facilities of each hostel/semester 3. The mess fees is about 15000/semester.

There is not much gender ratio within campus. There are a good amount of boys and girls almost of 1:2 ratio. There alot of skill based cultural societies that help a student culturally and enhance skills. Some of these are, TFF, Frosh, Fine arts and Photography Society, Saturnalia, Urja, Paryawaran, Pratigya, virsa, orion, edc, the whole list of society is provided ont he college website. There is equal tolerance towards gender and caste, race, religion. Ethinicity, orientation. There is no descrimination based on any of these above and the whole campus lives in accordance with each other. The economic status is somewhat equal of everyone here.

Yes. Single Hostel room rent is 47000 for one semester. The hostel facilities provided are Ac, attached toilet, Gym, playing area, tv, washing machine, sofa, water cooler, daily laundry, daily room cleaning. The hostel designs vary from each hostel, so does the fees for each. Each hostel have their unique way of construction- cluster system, sharing room, single room, single room with singular toilets. The infrastructure of the newer hostels are made by dublin based architects providing world class facilities.

The alumni of the college is pretty helpful. They provide assistance and some of the alumni also works here in thapar. The alumni here is works in collaboration with the college faculty and can be contacted if a student needs assistance regarding a subject or extracurricular activity. The alumni and the seniors also provide help if needed and camn be contacted easily through a department.

I got admitted in Thapar University through Leet enterance exam. In may to june, leet form gets released to register for test. The test has a specific number of seats. If one has obtained a good rank in the test, he/she can affix their seat on the basis of marks obtained in the test. Once selected, the initial process is to deposit fees same day of admission alongwith all the necessary documents for verification. Two affidavits were required with notary signatures for anti ragging and non alcohol, both for students and parents. Once these formalities are done, the college provides date for start of semester classes along with timetable at a specific date.

The faculty is actually very helpful and can provide assistance in college afterhrs. All the faculty has to be Phd qualified to join the college, therefore providing quality over quantity. There is about a faculty to student ratio of 1:8. The faculty also indulges with the students for their research work to enhance student skills and help them to if they want to pursue masters or work on research projects in the future.
