Remarks
The Coding culture of the college is not so good. Some professors don't know how to pronounce certain words. The campus is too small. Placement and internship opportunities are not that good. The nonteaching staffs have a very negative attitude. Classrooms are not that spacious. Girls are not allowed outside the hostel after 10 PM. Extracurricular activities are great here.
Course Curriculum Overview
About the course curriculum, I want to say that the curriculum is very much updated keeping in focus on new and upcoming technologies as well as placement. Days are not too hectic. In the first half, we have classes for 4 hrs and in the second half, we have labs for 3 hrs. If you want to do research or projects then the labs are open 24*7 for you. As far as semester examinations are concerned, it's not too tough too. If you have well studied the notes of the processors, then you can solve 90% of the questions without any fail. Our course structure is designed so that students can have time to focus on their own skills too like sports etc. There is nothing called load on our campus. Everything is chilled.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are not that good in our college. The average package is around 7-8 LPA. The highest paying company are Adobe which offers 40LPA and Amazon which offers 30 LPA. But they take almost 1 candidate. Other good companies are Sabre, Factset, Capgemini, Oyo, etc. They offer between 10-15 LPA. Mass recruiters also come to our campus like Infosys. They hire around 160 students. Its CTC is 3. 5 LPA. Companies like Adobe and Oyo also provide internships for pre-final year students as well as for final year students too.
College Events
The biggest event of our college in Corona and Melange - Techno cultural fest of NIT Patna. Its duration is one week. It happens in the last week of January. There are a lot of events in the fest which are very interesting. We invite all the colleges of Patna for the event including IIT Patna. They do come and participate. This year the famous Bollywood playback singer Asees Kaur performed live. We had Zephyeartone for EDM night. And a band called TRAP for Band night.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees are according to the annual income of the family. Below 1LPA it's 1200 per semester Between 1-5 LPA it's 26000 per semester. Above 5LPA it's 68000 per semester. For SC/ST it's 5100 per semester. These are only tuition fees. Hostel and mess fees are not included. If you are staying at NIT Hostel then you have to pay 26000 per semester (twice a year).
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no scholarships according to my knowledge. Students can avail themselves of loan facilities from banks. There is Allahabad Bank inside the campus. Besides this, students can also take loans through the new Bihar government scheme that is a Student Credit card scheme, but this is available only for Bihar students. I myself have availed that scheme for paying the fees.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are great here. There is a big ground for all games. We have a separate football court, volleyball court, and badminton court. There is SAC (Student Activity Center) building for various activities. It consists of gyms(separate for boys and girls), Table tennis court. It has room for every indoor game like carrom, chess, etc. It has a music room, dance room and many more. There are several technical and cultural clubs. There is a photography club too. There is a big workshop too. The gender ratio was pretty bad earlier but now for two years, due to the female reservation quota number of girls has become double. But still, they are 15-18%. Due to reservation for backward casts, there are all kinds of people. Economically, I think most are well off. Talking about religion I've seen Hindus of course in the majority. There are Muslims, Sikhs, and Jains too.
Hostel Facilities
Good at comparatively sometimes the water efficiency comes the food is too good in some hostel lack of washroom toilets in few hostels all the condition is good and proper security arrangement in the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Interaction with seniors that are currently studying here is very helpful and caring too. They guide us and help us in many ways. There is nothing called ragging on our campus. Seniors give advice if you tell them about your goal. Personally. I don't have any such experience since I'm an introvert.
Admission
In Karnataka to get into an engineering college is through 3 ways, the first entrance exam is called CET, second reservations, third is through management. Our college follows the same fate. I got my admission through the management since I had got my subject in other College as a wrong one, I wanted to do computer science and engineering.
Faculty
Faculties are highly interested in teaching the students. But most of them are aged. So their way of teaching is quite obsolete. Students get bored in the lectures. But this happens only in the classroom. Labs are quite interesting. All the lab assistants are very helpful and guide us while doing the experiments. I think we learn from experiments more as compared to the class theories. Coming to the qualifications of the faculties. Most of them have done their Master's and Ph. D from a reputed college like IITs. Some of them have work experience too. They tell us about what the company actually wants while hiring a candidate. They motivate us to choose higher studies too. One negative point I want to add is that some of the professors have quite bad vocabulary which is really a major turn-off. Some of them have really bad pronunciations.
