Remarks

The college has no canteen. The college has no Gymkhana as well. Initially when I joined the college these facilities were available but in a year things changed and there were some issues due to which it was all shut down or rather sealed and broken down by officials so the college has no canteen facility for students. The students have to rely on street hawkers outside college premises.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum covers the basics needed and that's no doubt. All the basics and history you would need being an IT student is covered. The only thing lacking is that the curriculum is more theory focused and the languages taught to students are really old. The systems used are really outdated. The college doesn't fall responsibile for this but the university does.

Placement Experience

2

The college has a placement cell and constantly updates students about placement drives and pool drives offered by different colleges. The college itself also holds a lot of placement drives for students of different courses. The college ties up with different companies that offer internship to students. The only error is that the college isn't that supportive of students having internships.

College Events

4

The college has a cultural fest named Panaah that is an inter college cultural festival backed up by the college. The college also hosts TedX shows were speakers host shows and talk about really good and inspiring stuff The college has an NSS group which goes on trips and camps and stuff The college has a fests celebrated by students of different courses of the college like namely, Technolution by IT students, Tremor by BMS students, etc. The college also has a Rotaract Club named Rotaract Club of Hinduja College that is a stand alone committee. This functions of this club is renowned across the whole of Mumbai and is overlooked by teachers assigned by the college but it is a totally stand alone committee that is run and administered by elected students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college does provide transparency for the fee breakdown. The college only accepts demand drafts as a mode of payment for the fees. The average fee for a year us 25,000. 25,000 as fees seems feasible as that's very common these days considering how expensive education has become but it feels bad then students of reserved category have to pay relatively very less fees like 2500 or something.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no idea about this. I did not apply for any education loan but I surely got a scholarship from a trust institute that is not related to the college But the college was very supportive of the procedures of the trust which was good and made it very easy for me.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio of the college seems 1:1 as there are equally male and female students (I don't know of students of other genders). Extracurricular activities of the college revolve around the committee and fests and stuff of the college. As a stand alone the college does a little bit of extracurricular activities like students week, celebrating different days, cultural week, nss week, etc. But the college can and must do better in this.

Hostel Facilities

1

No. I have not opted for hostel as I reside in Mumbai only but I don't think the college has a hostel facility. We have students coming from other cities but they have managed to look for accommodation by themselves.

Alumni/Alumna

The only way I could connect to the Alumni was through Rotaract as I was a part of the team for 2 years. The college doesn't host any events or does anything to connect students with the Alumni of the college. The seniors I interacted with through Rotaract are very helpful and do help you out about things that could get you in trouble.

Admission

B.Sc IT was my second option as a career which is why I opted for this course. I choose this college because I wanted to get enrolled in college from the South of Bombay as South has more exposure compared to colleges in the suburbs of Mumbai. So after your 12th you apply through the government portal and then get the offline forms from colleges and submit them offline. Merit lists are made based on math marks.

Faculty

2.5

The lecturers did their part fairly decent. They covered topics and subjects of the curriculum but then it all spirals down to the one topic that what we are learning is outdated. The industry has progressed significantly but the curriculum hasn't and we are still studying age old languages and systems. So basically students have to do extra courses and undergo industry training if they want a job because the curriculum doesn't teach what the industry wants from us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
