NIT Calicut at glance

As the college is in south India so the students who are hindi speaking there are a lot of problems for them.because they don't like the malyalam culture initially.but later on they used to it.So Management Staff Should train the hindi speaking students to get fit in the culture so fast.I noticed one thing that the mallu people hate north indian or hindi speaking people.

One thing I observe in college that marking scheme is very strict.I saw my friends who study in other colleges easily get minimum 7 pointer but in our college one needs to mug up a lot of things to get even 6 pointer.The process of college was more marks oriented rather than the skill one has.

For cs branch placement is 100% and average package is 8 lakhs.for other branches placement varies from 30% to 90%.i did internship after my second year in ongc vadodara for one month.

There is a famous cultural festival called ragam which is held every year in august month. And other festivals are tathva which is not more cultural.tathva festival is more technical oriented.many colleges participate in these events.In every stream their own technical event also use to take place

When I took admission in 2013 then annual fees was 40000, 20k each semester but now the total annual fees is 120000.yes it is expensive.because everybody can not afford 2 lakh every year.But now many state goverments are launching scholarships schemes like mp launched medhavi chatra yojana.

I was getting scholarship from my state which was Madhya Pradesh.which was 27000 per year.those people who were sc/st and domicile of kerala they were getting full rebate in tution fee.they were paying only for mess and pg fees.

Campus life is good.gender ration is quite good.except mechanical you will find girls in all stream.there are many sports activity and skills activity also.So one who wants to learn and develop skills best opportunity for him.I didn't take part in any kind of these activity for which I still regret.Everybody should take part because it help in cv and also help in IIM interview if anybody wants to do mba.

Yes.from first year to third year we got 4 people sharing room but in final or 4th year we got single room.and the average rent of room was 800 rupees per month.in every year we get different hostel.like in first year I got A hostel then B then C then E

The alumni network of our college is very strong.You will find our alumnis in all sectors.like some are IAS also.So anybody who need help they can contact them easily.And they are very helpful

I got admission in this college through AIEEE 2013 exam which is now called jee mains.I got 13000 rank but I was obc so i got admission.I got Chemical Branch.The biggest mistake i did was I couldn't maintain 6.5 cgpa in college for that I had to face many problems like I was not allowed to sit in many placement companies.and in our college 6.5 cgpa means 60% so i was not elligible for psu.So I left the chemical field and start preparing for general competition government jobs.I now I am LIC administrative Assistant

There are always good and bad.So few faculties were very good and many were not good.faculties had knowledge.but they don't know that how to express that knowledge.I beleive in one thing that little you know but how better you know.Because a good teacher always very keen in showing the best of any topic
