Remarks

The management of university is too good& they try their best in providing education to students.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The UG degree in History is mostly about the history of our past which had helped us in the better understanding of contemporary world.it had helped us in how our past had shaped our present.UG degree didn't make you industry professional as the subject is more theoretical & researches are not industry specific.but the institution helps in grooming students personality by various curricular &extra curricular activities.

Placement Experience

4

As it is theoretical subjet the companies visiting are less then 5 as the subject is not industry specific but some of the guys usually gets placed in job fair oragnisedby the university administration.

College Events

4.5

As it is not the college but a whole university,so there were no. Of wide range of festivals that were organised.the spectrum of oragnised festivals is too large,we used to have the department wise cultural fest from feb-apr. Some centres used to oragnise the regional & cultural festivals e.g NORTH EAST FESTIVAL,KERALA FESTIVAL. The crowd in any fest depends on the type of fest like the cultural fest that are oragnised by the department usually have the participants from 500-1000,and the technical fest superseds the cultural fest in the participants & crowd,as it usually have the participants across India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible, the mode of payment accepted by college is bank deposit +netbanking.no,there is no additional fees charged apart from the fees that is to be paid in starting of each year. the college provides full transparency in fee-breakdown as all the info related to fee is mentioned in fee slip.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes,the college offers scholarships to meritorious students who had excelled in their respective courses apart from it Govt.also give scholarships to those who fulfils the eligibility criteria laid down by govt.

Campus Life

5

The gender ration is quite fair &better than the other colleges we have 5:1 for boys:girls, the university as well as departments have their societies for the wholesome development of the student. The university is a home to the students from all over India which makes it very rich in diversity. The university gave due tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, politics&economic status.beside, that the university have Internal complaint committee to report any type of discrimination based on caste, sex, ethnicity, religion. The university have the state of art indoor, football & cricket stadium for its students. The university as well as departments organises their annual sport fest for the students. The university & departments oragnises various competitions for developing various skills, like the BOL-debating society of university helps students in developing oratory skills which helps them at a large in their life.

Hostel Facilities

5

I had not opted for hostels instead i chose to live in rented apartment in the locality near to college. The avg. Cost per head for one month is around 6000-7000 which inlcudes accodomation+food+transportation.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors were always helpful in providing solutions to our academic problems as well as the other problems.

Admission

The very reason for which i had opted for this course was fascination with the stories of our past, our civilization, our warriors. And,history hons was the most suitable course for me to join. the reason why i had joined the Jamia was based on some factors Location-It is located in national capital which is not very far away from my hometown. Academic-Jamia has one of the best teacher:student ratio in UG courses&the professors here are some of the best in their fields. The admission procedure is quite simple online application are invited in the months of feb -march for upcoming academic session followed by the entrance test in April-june. The results are announced within 1month of entrance &the merit list is published on the basis of your entrance test marks.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
