PMEC Review

Overally our college is good compare to other colleges in our state but it's on-campus placement is little bit low.

Our course curriculum and exam structure is strictly based on BPUT syllabus. The marking based as 50 marks on laboratory performance and 100 marks written exam with internal 50 marks from college which includes 2 internal exam of 15 marks each and quiz test, surprise test, assignment and attendance carrys 5 marks each. So total internal marks=15+15+5+5+5+5=50 marks. Our theory classes are perfect but in case of practical class we are a step behind then other private colleges because of lack of instruments in the lab. So nearly minimum 70 to 80% of experiments are done. And each batch is provided by 2 industrial visit by the college. Either each visit in 3rd year and 4th year or both visits in 4th year only. Regarding the on campus placement, at present time it is increasing in our college due to combine hardwork of college and student but for coming years it may be affected due to this lockdown period.

There are many companies like Mahindra and Mahindra, pie infocom, alok industries, TCS, etc. For recruitment they follow 3 steps, they're :- 1) Minimum marks of nearly 7. 5 or 8 sgpa. 2) Written examination 3) Personal interview Nearly 20% to 30% of students are placed yearly. Sometimes our college take some steps like spoken english classes for improving the english vocabulary, some industrial lecture are also arranged. Also our college have a startup club under the startup Odisha.

Yearly we are celebrating 2 main fastivals in our college they are:- 1) Tech Fest - It is the technical fastivals of our college in which different branches of our college arrange them independently, in which different fun activities and activities related to our course are arranged. Here minimum 3000 students take part including students from other colleges 2) Annual function name Exuberance is arranged which celebrated for 3 to 4 days in which students from from our college give their performance and many other bollywood and ollywood singers are also invited like Millind Gaba, Darshan Raval and Gajendra Verma. Over over 2400 student participates only from our college.

As it a government engineering college, so has a very reasonable fee structure of nearly Rs 35000 per annul as program fees. The fees is paid through bank draft. And there is no additional or hidden fees and the fee breakdown is totally transperancy. There is no fees for secure an admission in the college as it is totally on merit basis.

Student can avail the government scholarship like medhabruti or prenana but there is no scholarship provide by the college itself.

It's a good campus with more than 80 acres of land. It has a food counter, amul parlour, utility block etc. It has a gender ratio of 10:6 overally. In which all students live with friendly behaviour. There are two big fields for sports and 5 big hostels outvof which 2 hostels are under construction. There are many clubs such as robotics club, photography club called shadow club dance club called cadance, music club startup club, etc.

In hostel, students are provided a room with 3 sharing. Each student is given one bed a study table and chair with a separate cupboard and their is common toilets. The hostel is cleaned daily. They provide 3 times food a day. The food and hostel fees is nearly ? 50000 per year.

Yes, the senior are helpful in both educational as well as personal life. But we don't have a strong communication with our alumni die ti which we face some problems in placement too.

I had given the JEE main exam in 2017 and later I had given the college preference list. So the selection of the is made on the basis of the preference and mark of the students by the state government authorities or central government authorities. And I had selected Parala Maharaja Engineering college as it is a state government engineering college, a constituent college of BPUT. And I also took some reviews of some seniors before getting admitted into the college. It has a good campus as it's a recent college of 2009. In the college minimum 85% to 90% course is covered and as it is a TEQIP-III mapped institute, so students are getting more advantage to explore themselves in different fields.

There are 22 lecturers in our course with an average age of 30 or 32 and all have a minimum qualification of M. Tech or Ph. D. They provide us a clear view on the subject by providing teaching in smart board and providing some models also. Many lecturers have industrial experience including our Hod sir.
