All about IIT Roorkee

The connectivity of IIT Roorkee is bad. Because there is no international airport in the range of 150 km it also affects placement. But now IIT Roorkee is developing a new campus in Noida near Delhi.

Campus placement of the college is very good. I study mechanical engineering. In the core field, the average package is not much high about 9-10 LPA. In coding or software placement is the very high average package is about 20-25 LPA. This year 3 students got a 1.51 crore per annum package. The on-campus coding culture is very high. And also here is a good opportunity for internships. Companies like Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Facebook, jaguar, honda, Goldman Sachs, etc.

Here are more events like north Indian biggest cultural festival named Thomso. It celebrates in the month of October full of fun about 150+ events 20000+ students gathering and much more. And Asia's 2nd largest technical fest named cognizance is also a very big event full of technology and fun. Some other events like a social summit e- summit and rainzo for alumni.

The fee structure is defined by the Indian government. An engineering graduation fee is not much more. This is fee is easily feasible. The fee payment method is directly account transfer. Transparency in fee is very high no doubt on fee payment. In fee, it includes tuition fee 1lakh per sem, some institute fee, examination fee, and hostel fee.

I didn't get any scholarships. There are many scholarships on the basis of the annual income of the family. Below 1 lakh per annum, students got full remission in fee, between 1-5 lakh per annum got 2/3 fee remission. And 1scholarship is based on jee adv named James Thomason award. Students under AIR 275 awarded 25000 monthly for 4 years.

Natural beauty is very good on campus. It's located just below Himalaya. The campus area is about 360 acres. Here are more opportunities in extracurricular activities like social, cultural, and technical. Mini groups in college provide students more active in culture and technology. All types of sports are available here. Now college is growing their robotic section actually 3- r group work on robotics

Yes, all students had allotted hostels. In 1st year two types are room double and single. Room allocation is purely random. I got a single room. In each room, there is a study table, bed, tea table, chair, almirah, fan, light, and two windows. Each hostel has its own mess with good food quality. The total hostel+ mess fee is around 24000 rupees. The quality of foods in the mess is above average.

IIT Roorkee is developing its alumini connectivity. This year they started to organize an event named Rainzo for alumni. Alumni also provide some scholarships. Alumni also helped students to get internships in a good company.

A common test named JEE. There is two exam 1st jee main and 2nd is jee adv. Main is conducted in Jan and April month and adv is conducted in may month. About 11lakh students appeared each year. All students have only two chances. 1st chance in class 12th and 2nd in just after 12th.

There is lectures, tutorial as well as practical classes. All lecturers are very well experienced. Tutorial classes are conducted by Ph.D. scholars or new lecturers. Most of the teachers used a projector which helps with 3d visualization and technology. The teacher also helped students to provide us many other facilities.
