Remarks

Office facilities could be improved as currently most of it available through offline only also Library could also be enlarged for a better experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The College curriculum is more or less traditional, there is a mix of both external and internal assessments and exams that are taken to evaluate your performance. DU follows a bi-semester system and the exam process is quite smooth and very fair. Industrial visits and excursions are also organized but are very few, it works as most of the curriculum is classroom-based only. A typical class lasts about 45 min to 1 hour.

Placement Experience

3.5

You can take ample placement opportunities by becoming a member of the Placement Cell of the college. Internships are also available round the year. The recruitment process depends on the company for which you have applied for. Every year 200-300 students get placed in reputed companies like Wipro, TCS, etc.

College Events

4.5

There is various departmental fest held around the year. The annual fest of Sri Venkateswara college I e NEXUS takes place somewhere in Feb or March, it's a 3-day event with each day dedicated to Cultural Night, Band show, and Star Night respectively. The college has witnessed stars like Arman Malik, Jubin Nautiyal, Sunidhi Chauhan in the last years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very accessible around 10-14 Thousand per year depending upon your course plus an examination fee of around Rs500 charged twice a year. The fee is accepted through online mode only via credit card, Debit card, E-wallets, or UPI. There are no hidden charges. A variety of scholarships are also available for students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, third-party scholarships are available but the college as such does not provide any such scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life of Sri Venkateswara College is one of the best you can get, being situated in the Heart of Delhi, life inside the campus is very vibrant. There are a ton of societies like Parivartan - Social Service, NSS, dance society, Drama society, Quiz society of which you can be a part. The college has a good cafeteria as well with good seating space and a Nestle outlet as well. The food at the college canteen is quite Tasty and very economical, however, options are limited. The gender ratio of college is also good with as many girls as boys and the college also boast of a big playing ground in which various sports tournaments are organized from time to time. Overall life at Sri Venkateswara College is a fulfilling experience.

Hostel Facilities

3

No, There is a college Hostel available but there are very few seats available which you get through merit. There are a variety of options available for accommodation just outside college you can find PGs, Flats and what not. They are bit expensive as college is in South Delhi. You can have an average of about 6000-12000 pm depending upon what you choose. College hostel charges about 7000pm including mess charges.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, seniors are helpful and provide good guidance. Also, you can interact to them round the clock as they are taught in the same building as we are and they come in the vicinity through various societies as well.

Admission

I got this college through a merit list based on 12 th board score, admission process was quite smooth with minimal steps like document verification after you clear your course cutoff and most of the process like feel payments is online so it's very convenient, You have to visit college only for documents verification.

Faculty

4

The faculty of any college of Delhi University is good in standards. In BA Programme there are 4 lecture subjects that are taken care of by multiple lecturers. Doubts of students can be cleared in lectures only as there is ample time available. Lecturers are mostly PhD or MPhil scholars and can teach well.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
