Remarks
Hindu College is one of the best colleges in the country. I was lucky to get into this institution. One of the main reason to choose Hindu College was the faculty of the college which is experienced and is considered to be highly qualified. Another reason was the atmosphere of the institution and the diversification of students of the college. It has students from every part of the country. It also provides various opportunities to take part and improve in various extracurricular activities via different societies. I believed that the college can alter my personality completely and it did. I opted for Physical science chemistry because I wanted to study all the three subjects i.e, Physics, Maths and Chemistry.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course syllabus was very wide but not too deep. According to me, internal marks are given more weightage than they should be. The course can provide a base for those who in future wants to have a doctorate in any of the three subjects. Faculties are well qualified and its like studying from the best professors in the country. Faculties of the chemistry department were really good.
Placement Experience
Science courses in our college do not have much job opportunities. Students mostly prefer going for the masters course. Whereas placements are available for the commerce students and Economics students.
College Events
Campus life is very eventfull with new events happening every single day. In the starting of the year college elections are the hottest issue with which we also have department freshers, college freshers, auditions of different societies and ofc the unofficial freshers parties. In the next sem, we have different department fests, literary fest, annual conclave and the most important The annual cultural fest of Hindu college - MECCA being held. Mecca is a three day festival hosting hundreds of events and performances from the biggest stars of the country every night. These three days are sleepless for the organisers but the most enoyable for the entire college and even the outsiders. Mecca is considered to be biggest festival of the North campus with a footfall of around 1 lakh. Year ends with college farewell party for the seniors. Now the societies are taken to be very serious by the students. They represent Hindu college in various competitions around the country and they are the best in their respective field. All this happens with the support of the college administration and the funds they provide.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is amazing with fully equipped labs and Hindu college library is the best place to study in. The sports complex is well maintained with ground for various sports such as football, handball, cricket, basketball, volleyball and athletics. Wifi used to be down at times.
