Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is nicely built focusing on every aspect of the subject. The vast reach of this field brought me here to pursue it. The curriculum prepared is for real world understanding and with the inclusion of research degree it may benefit more.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunities are mostly off campus, but the college societies related to internships provide a good support. The college admin is also supportive in terms of support and providing any required process for approval by college. Students do many internships with different organisations and companies, and learn new skills which teach them real life engagement.

Placement Experience

3

Formal campus placements are limited here according to me. Hindu College is primarily known for strong academic environment rather than placements. Most prefer higher studies or competitive exams. Though some companies visit Hindu College like Accenture. There is a separate placement cell of Hindu College called Disha.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that I paid is 27000 Rupees. Though the college holds some scholarships which the students can enroll while studying in the college. One such scholarship is Raj Bhargava Scholarship. Apart from this, the fee varies for different categories, for example, the foreign students are charged almost double than tha Indian students. If a student is an orphan, he has to pay almost negligible amount. Within these two years, I experienced a little hike in the fees which is normally acceptable. But the overall average remains 27000 Rupees only.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is too much vibrant. Each and every society has their own functions their own fests. Adding to that the college organizes its own events. The facilities are regularly looked upon and maintained. The classrooms are equipped with projectors for digital access and some are air conditioned too. The sports facilities are also at a good stance, which has provided players like Gautam Gambhir and Arshpreet Bhullar to the country. The different societies create an all inclusive environment in the college which helps in personal development also.

Admission

The admission process in Hindu College is through CUET entrance exam. But there are certain reservations and quotas for different eligible candidates. These include reservations for SC,ST and OBC, Sports Quota, ECA quota and others. I came to this college through sports quota which required a sports trial apart from the CUET examination. I got the option to go in Shivaji College for Political Science and English Honours. But I chose Hindu because of the availability of the best faculties and the overall vibrant culture here.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is very good which can be understood by the fact that in Political Science only, there are around 8 faculty members for all 4 years. All of them are very approachable and they assist us in all the chores. The exams are held once per semester, i.e. 2 exams per year. These exams are of moderate level which can be cleared with the good understanding of the papers.

Interview Experience

5

I had to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in order to get the admission. The topics vary according to the subjects which the candidate had while pursuing class 12, in addition to a General Test. I prepared for this exam through NCERTs. For students who apply for quotas have to face one more selection process depending upon their quota. Apart from it, there was not any Group Discussion or Written Test.

Night Life

5

The college is situated near areas like Vijay Nagar, Kamla Nagar and Roop Nagar which provide good hangout options for students. They offer different cafeterias and gums where people can access. The hostel in timings are around 10 PM which ensures safety. The surrounding area of the college makes it accessible for different services.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
