Remarks

Firstly, I had a decent rank of 1334 in WBJEE-2018, and also I've always had an edge over Nano Technology. Thus considering the future prospects of Material Science in the field of Research and Development along with the relaxation in the course structure to prepare for other competitive exams kind of intrigued me to join GCECT.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is on par with the same course provided at a premier institution like IIT-BHU. The faculty is academically very sound and provides a fair bit of knowledge about the corporate world outside, as a pre placement drill. Also, the academic course is stringent but has enough relaxation at times to prepare ourselves as a complete package rather than being a mere robot.

The placements and pre placement scenario are great at our institution which is ever growing. All sorts of training induction programmes plant visits are given equal attention and every individual is given equal opportunities.

The college provides us with one Cultural Gala Fest Jagriti and one Techno Management Fest Karmatek in an annual year. And every now and then we conduct all sorts of events to harness the minds of our batch mates.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
