Remarks

Good Lab facilities, infrastructure, campusing by well known companies, wonderful faculty member, college environment, anti ragging facilities, availability of e library, smart classroom facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

Most of the syllabus is a practical field based. Industrial visits take place often. Faculty Members are very supportive and experienced. Dr Sanmitra Ghosh was a wonderful faculty. But now she has transferred.

Class Size: 500Course Fees: INR 210000 per year

Placement Experience

Wipro, Cipla, Apollo these are the companies that generally visit in campusing. There are others too. Minimum 70% scored students are allowed to sit on campusing.90-95% of them took place. Alumni are really nice, supportive and helpful.

College Events

The management committee is there. Different cultural programmes, seminars, workshops take place throughout the year. And most of the students take part in them which are really helpful and enjoyable. IRIS is the annual college fest and the biggest event in GNIPST which took place for long 3 days.

Campus Life

College students are involved in different sports such as basketball Cricket football badminton etc. and college help them to nurture their sports activities. Free WiFi zone is available. The library is very large in size. All the required types of equipment are easily available in labs.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I have applied for institute of genetic engineering for the same course BSc genetics but I to admission in Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences because they are the only other colleges in West Bengal who provides BSc genetics as their course and I choose this college because this is under GIS group and this is well known in West Bengal.
