Remarks

Kamala Nehru College is for only girls therefore it provides a very safe environment to girls. Also,it is located in one of the most posh area of South Delhi i.e green park. Kamala Nehru College is one of the best college to pursue arts and commerce. Specially,it's political science faculty is renowned. For students scoring around 95%, this college is one of the best option in their hand and it should be ranked topmost in their college list

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is designed in such a way that it helps students to differentiate between theoretical and the practical world which helps the students to develop insights upon the topic, and facilities holistic learning. In the first year students get introduced to the Indian constitution and various political theories like liberalism,in the second year after learning about constitution it proceeds to indian political processes along with political concepts like equality. This aims to familiarise students that how the principals of constitution are practised by the Indian government. Through the course, various perspectives are taught which helps the students to develop their own believes. The faculy is both knowledgeable and experienced. If I would have to explain it in one word it would "excellent".The Political Science department of the college is very active.it organizes one or the other thing like quizes, book talks, debates etc which helps the students to learn beyond books and understand the ground reality more clearly and distinguish it from the superficial reality.

Placement Experience

3.5

Around 45-50% students gets placed. companies like Wipro etc visit the college. The placement cell is better than many other du colleges. But there is still a scope of heavy improvement. College can work upon establishing new companies which can be fruitful for the students and can provide a kick start to their careers. But as of now also the teacher try to perform all the needful. The college is currently associated with internshala etc.

College Events

3.5

Knc on a regular basis organizes numerous workshops, quizes, book talks, talk shows etc for its students which leds to the growth of students. To be precise, knc organizes two annual fests,it's diwali fest-shubhamjali and Ullas. Both the fests witness large crowds and many stall of clothing, food, gaming etc. It also offers rides which prevents the fests from being monotonous. Ullas is one of the best knc fest among all the other du fests. Many college societies performs in activities like fasion show, dance, singing etc. which never lets the audience get borred. It also holds quiz, essay writing, debate etc competitions, many of them are opened for non-du students also. The Journalism department of knc organizes excellent department fests.

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure of knc is average. A standard knc classroom can accommodate around 35-40 students at a time. But its problematic to hold more than 40 students comfortably. A tut room can only accommodate around 5 students comfortably at one time. There three floors and each floor consists of two washrooms for students, some of them remain clean some aren't. Knc library adds to its infrastructure in a positive way it's a three-floored library with adequate sitting arrangement.knc also offers a video library.knc ground is big enough to hold large gatherings and multiple sports activities to take place. The sports facilities are fine providing every necessary equipments. The college consists of adequate labs which are average in size, it provide the students with almost all the necessary equipments but there is still scope of improvement in order to help students learn better. The computer labs consists of sufficient systems to work on with adequate number of printers. Knc canteen offer sitting arrangement both inside and out but even then students sometimes struggle to find a space to eat. Knc does provide free wifi but that isn't accessible all the time. students struggle in placing calls even. The connection is even more weaker in library, ground and some of the classrooms. The best thing about knc's infrastructure is its greenery covered chaupal. This is one of the best place in knc to chill and relax. It offers space to both performers to entertain and audience to enjoy. The gym is not very spacious but it provides almost all the equipments for cardio and other exercises.knc also consists of smaller activity rooms for different activities. All and all, the infrastructure is okayish but if you compare it with the fees you pay, it's quite good

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
