My Amazing Experience at SKNCOE

All in all, the staff is excellent. Helping staff are co-operative.Office staff is disciplined and strict but they will make sure you suffer if you don't do the activities in the given deadlines.Laboratory equipment are excellent and abundant.If you are looking to bunk the college, this is NOT the place to be as a minimum of 80% attendance is required and your parents are called immediately if you don't satisfy this.

I appeared for MHT-CET and scored 86 marks in 2011. As my mind was set on SKNCOE and also the fact that these marks weren't enough for me to get enrolled in this college, I chose to opt for the management quota. YES ! such was my enthusiasm to join SKNCOE.

As the course was engineering, it is common to all Pune University students and I would prefer not to speak of the content as everyone would have a different view and perspective, its just a matter of which field you want to specialize in.

The internship programs are mostly conducted in the second and third academic year. The most common company that offers internship opportunity almost every year is BSNL and the college staff is well co-ordinative with the time adjustment matters.

SKNCOE is mostly renowned for its placement facilities (even more than its neighbouring colleges like SCOE and NBNCOE). If you maintain a minimum of second class or even higher second class aggregate, you are most certain to get placed.The placement record is almost 70-80% every year and the thing that will amaze you is the consistency of no. of students placed every year.

As you might have already heard, the annual 'Sinhgad Karandak' is one of the most exciting and renowned events in Pune. Recent celebrity visits include the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Jay Sean, Edward Maya and most recently The Chainsmokers, Vishal Shekhar, Jatin Lalit, Mandira Bedi, Satish Kaushik all in a single year.Along with concerts, there are almost 40-50 events held every year.

The fee-structure on an average is divided category wise as follows: Open :- 1 lakh every year.OBC : 50, 000 every yearSC/ST/NT : 15, 000 every year along with the option of scholarship refunds.

I don't think I have heard of any scholarship facilities made available by the college itself. Also, the college will not provide any loan so it is all up to the bank you are referring.

If I would have to review the extracurricular activities and competitions like Robotics, I would give a 9.5/10. Also, the cash prizes made available to the participants is very, very high and also, there are plenty of opportunities that a student can avail.

There are around 10-12 diifferent mess options available and the food is also quite average. Hostel rooms are nice but don't fall to the "Wi-Fi available" banners on the website as there is NO Wi-Fi for SKNCOE students.

There is an excellent Alumni network and almost every year, the college makes sure that there is communication between the juniors and seniors. Various programs that bring together the students of various years are "Prayas", Sinhgad Karandak, various certification activities and many more.

The internal exam patterns for SKNCOE are almost like a school with 2 Unit tests, Re-unit tests, Prelim and re-Prelims in a single semester. All papers are well evaluated by the staff. The negative side is the hectic nature of the academics, but if you look on the bright side, at the end you will be familiar with the final exam questions and trust me, it helps a lot.
