Remarks

Our college management is quite efficient and also a scientific one. With a healthy and warm environment, it is perfect for achieving academic, extracurricular, and proffesional excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Course Curriculum is quite relevant which mostly includes research-driven studies guided by our much-experienced professors. We sit through 2 exams in a semester which include a mid-term and an end-term examination. Our course also provides us with hands-on proffesional experiences involving industrial trips as we had just arrived from our 2nd Industrial trip sponsored by our Earthscience department.

Placement Experience

4.5

The companies which visit our campus to recruit from our department are ONGC, Indian Oil, Schlumberger, Vedanta, etc. The institute holds a special program for placement for the final year students every year through the Training and placement cell. For the recruitment drive, generally, there is an initial shortlisting of students based on the criteria given by a certain company and it is further followed by multiple rounds including a written test, interview round, technical round, and HR round.

College Events

5

There are quite a few events celebrated in our college including Asia's 2nd largest tech fest, Cognizance, and others are Thomso( cultural festival), Sangram(sports tournament), and other events conducted by the cultural council of the institute which includes dance, music, art, Culinary, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For accepting any seat, we had to pay Rs. 20,000 which was subtracted from our 1st sem fee. The fee for our program in a semester is around Rs. 1,20,000. (excluding the fee for reserved seats, they don't have to pay the institute fee.) I think for general category students it is quite expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't avail any such scholarships. The college offers scholarship opportunities to students belonging to economically weak backgrounds.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is around 9:1, which isn't up to the mark. Extracurricular life is quite rich on our campus as it includes many tech groups such as robotics club, Mobile development group, ethical hacking group, etc. There is also a debate group in our college called Debate Society, IIT R.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, we have to share our room with 2 students in our first year. From 2nd year onwards we get our personal room. The rooms are provided with basic amenities and facilities including high-speed LAN connection enough for a healthy living condition.

Alumni/Alumna

We have an Alumni association with a monthly gathering/visit by our pass out seniors and alumni. They are quite helpful and deliver experienced talks and also provide personal help when approached. IIT Roorkee also has a Student Mentorship Programme where senior students guide the freshers about various grounds in the initial year of college life, which was quite helpful for me in my 1st year.

Admission

I cracked JEE Advanced 2017 and got admission through a process of online counseling and seat allocation. My course is an integrated MTech course which made me prefer it because I already lost a year as I dropped after 12th std. I got to know about my college including my course through online research keeping in mind my JEE rank and I found it quite suitable for me. Also, during the admission process, there were few rounds for seat allocation from which I froze my seat in the 1st round itself.

Faculty

4

There are over 40 lectures in our department, with a tentative average age of 35 - 40 years, who are quite experienced and most of them hold Ph.D. degrees and are alumni of well-established institutions such as Bristol University,UK, has published lots of well-known research papers. They are quite helpful and excellent in providing lectures and clearing our doubts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .
