Remarks
The thing i like the most about my college is the amount of exposure one can get in such a big institute. Hindu college is India’s No.1 Co-ed college according to NIRF rankings. I chose chemistry honours because hindu college has the best faculty for chemistry in the entire university.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are no unnecessary topics in our syllabus and it is completely upto date. The amount of exposure we got was more than enough. Seminars were organised in which internationally acclaimed chemists were invited. A huge event was organised focusing mainly on the periodic table as this year was declared as the international year of periodic table. Coming to the faculty, honestly i was not satisfied with the faculty and there way of teaching. Some teachers were too good(may be the best in the university) but some teachers are like the teachers who teach 5th class students. The vice principal and the principal are too good in teaching and the amount of knowledge they have is unbelievable (though the vice principal is quiet strict). Otherwise all other things like the infrastructure, etc are good.
College Events
Campus life is good. There are students from all over the country,so we get a chance to know them and their culture. It feels so good to see such diversity in this small place. Before coming to the college, we heard a lot about the festivals and events that are organised in the college every year. But once we saw them with our own eyes, everything felt overrated. The main reason behind this was the renovation work taking place in the college auditorium due to which all events were organised in open lawns so the heat and other things didn’t let us enjoy the events. The other reason was the poor management. The prime minister elected was the most dull and laziest person i know. The events are organised by the parliament of which the prime minister is the head. The management was so poor.
Campus Life
There is a separate building made for sports only. It’s known as the sports complex. The college have a volleyball court, a gym, basketball court and a football ground. The ground of Hindu College is the biggest in the university as far as i know. The library is of 3 floors with separate sections for arts, commerce and science subjects dedicated books. There are two main halls with enough sitting facilities for atleast 200 students. The library is fully air conditioned. There are 2-3 labs for each subject. Recently new labs were built with updated equipments but the new labs are available only for final year students. The labs for 1st and 2nd year students are bit old and some equipments don’t work properly.
