Remarks

As I have said overall the college is above average. You can land with a decent job after your graduation. However one should pursue other courses and certification while pursuing the course. The college management is average.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum followed is in line with the Pune University guidelines and is industry specific. There are industry visits conducted stream wise but they are limited to just 1-2 visits for the course. The curriculum is very well structured to get the on-campus placements. Many renowned organizations visit the campus for placements including big 4.

Placement Experience

4.5

Overall placement are good considering what a Bcom graduate can get in the market. There are many companies who takes part in on campus placements including Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Honeywell, Wipro, Northern Trust, Deutsche bank and many more. The total percentage of students who gets placed is around 35%. Many opt out themselves from the placement because they want to go for higher studies. The placement procedure starts with and aptitude test followed by group discussion and personal interview rounds. The candidate who clears every stage of the process is selected by the company. The institute doesn't provide any special assistance for preparing the students for the placements.

College Events

3.5

There are many events organised in the campus including the annual cultural fest Symagine which goes on for three days and is well organized. A student can be a part of different clubs and committees who helps in the smooth functioning of the event. There are also stream specific events for marketing, banking and entrepreneurship. In all these events a large number of participants take part in all the activities and competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. The program fees is Rs. 20000 for a year. The college accepts both the online and offline mode of payment. There is no additional fees for taking admission in the course. Once your name appears in the merit list, you have to make the fees payment for the 1st year and the breakup of fees structure is properly given by the admission team of the college. However there is additional Rs. 20000 fees for opting Honors along with Bcom in the second year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I didn't opt for any education loan. The college doesn't provide any scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

3.5

The overall campus is not that big as it is situated in the middle of the city and also it is the first campus of Symbiosis International University. The gender ratio is 60:40(male: female). The students come from every part of the world which is one of the plus points for the college as the diversity is very good. There is no bias on the basis of caste, creed, gender, religion in the college. The quality of peer group is very good as can be expected from the brand name of Symbiosis. There are no cultural societies as such in the college. Overall the college can be rated above average.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, I haven't opted for the hotel. But there is a hostel in the campus which takes students om the basis of merit list. However, there are some reservations for the NRI students to take admission in the hostel. The average rent is the hostel is around Rs. 1. 5 lacs.

Alumni/Alumna

The college alumni network is not that good. Although seniors are very good and helpful. They will help you with whichever thing you need help with. You can develop a very good bond with your seniors but the condition to that is you have to take part in various activities and competitions in the college.

Admission

A candidate can apply in the college through 12th percentage merit basis. I have also secured admission through my 12th class percentage criteria. After CBSE results are declared then the college releases the form for admission into the program. After the form filling, the college releases the merit list based on your percentage.

Faculty

3.5

The total number of lectures are 5 per day and the college also conducts classes on Saturday. Overall the faculty is experienced and well trained but they are not that strict to hold students to attend the lectures daily as there is no attendance issue in the college. Some lectures are good while some are very bad.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
