Remarks

I had applied to symbiosis Noida for BBA and got selected but didn't attend because of the location Noida, had applied for NMIMS, got selected for Navi Mumbai campus didn't attend because the return of investment was very low. Had applied to Xaviers Institute of Management BBSR, for Bcom(Hons) got selected but didn't take admission because the college has no placements. I finally took admission into symbiosis college of arts and commerce for Bcom with Acca, which is an integrated program with Acca Uk. In doing the course you get 6 exemptions while pursuing Acca Uk, they also give training for preparation and along with Acca accreditation from the Acca Uk Institute, symbiosis will provide a certificate of Bcom Hons (Accounting and finance) also will give placements accordingly. The return on investment is fantastic because the fees are very low. I didn't apply for a quota. For Bcom with Acca, 1st cut off was 93% in the 12th class it eventually came to 87%. For admission, after clearing cut off justpay fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose the course Bcom with Acca because at the end of 3 years, along with Bcom Hons( Accounting and finance) I would also get the Acca degree(provided I clear the remaining 7 papers). This would give my profile an edge over others. Faculty: ratio should be 1:40 but not sure because of the online classes. The faculty is fantastic. Our teachers themselves are Ca, Acca, cost accountants. They teach in a very light hearted student friendly manner. Term exams have been scheduled to happen in December.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

There are no direct internships provided yet but a lot of students find internships on their own and work. One can do internships from different websites like Internshala, indeed but the college provides a lot of certificate courses using which one can get a good amount of internships independently.

Placement Experience

5

From the end 2nd semester, students start getting placed. All the big 4s companies come to campus for placements. The highest package in 2020- 21 for UG was 5.5 LPA and the average package was 4 .1 LPA. The companies that visited the campus were Deloitte USI, Deutsche Bank, Northern Trust, Tresvista, Credit Suisse, Ernst and Young GDS, Teach for India, EY India, ElasticRun, Xqtiv Healthcare and GOMO Group offering positions varying from audit assistant, tax analyst, assurance and financial associate, HR analyst etc. The placement cell recorded a total of 64 students till date getting placed during 2020-21. Since I am doing the Acca degree, after completion, I plan to take 3 years of work experience to become a full Acca member. After taking full acca membership, I plan to do an MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

For normal Bcom Hons, fees are very affordable that is Rs.19100 per year and for Bcom with Acca, one has to pay Acca registration fees taking the total cost to 142000 rs. This includes everything related to Acca. For assistance, the college has a few scholarships that are provided by the central and state government. Also one can apply for student loans for financial support to study and since the overall college fees are low, it can be easily paid off once you complete college and get placed.

Campus Life

5

Symagine is the annual college fest mostly conducted at the year-end. The library is well equipped, during the pandemic they are even sending books to our home. Haven't visited the classroom yet but from everyone, I got to know, each class is well equipped with smart boards and all facilities. For extracurricular activities, there are 16 clubs that cover everything, starting from sports to films, also trekking etc. While studying in symbiosis one can also gain certificates from the symbiosis centre for liberal arts, which provides an array of certificate and diploma programs from a lot of disciplines like Language, literature, arts, programming etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Narsee monjee institute of management studies, navi mumbai | BBA

Very high fees but average placements, so low Return of investment

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
