Remarks
Jamia is a big university so management has a lot to do. The campus were kept neat and clean, study was up to the mark. Hostels were good. Faculty was good. So I have only nice things to say about the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was quite enlightening. The course consisted of long researches and written papers. I learnt almost every aspect of Media and creative writing. It was a vocational course so the curriculum was very much industry driven. We were given opportunities like writing assignments and field research.
Placement Experience
1. TV Today Network 2. BAG Films 3. Times group They conducted written exams followed by personal interview. Percentage of students placed every year must be around 30-40.
College Events
There is an annual college fest, besides every department organizes its own festivals. The annual fest is called 'TALEEMI Mela', it consists of cultural performances, debates, quiz, film screenings, science fair and also work shops and other competitions. The University celebrates its foundation day during the fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's a Central University so the fee structure is kept like everyone can afford it. Fee was quite affordable. They also provide scholarships to students coming from the economically weak sections. Also there is scholarship program for the top performing students.
Fees and Financial Aid
They provide scholarships to students coming from the economically weak sections. I do not know the number. Also there is scholarship program for the top performing students. It was for the top three scorers. I got scholarship for the latter. I won scholarships for all my three years of graduation.
Campus Life
The campus was really diverse. Since it's a minority institution so a huge chunk of students come from the minorities. Gender ratio must be around 60:40. It has drama, music, debating etc societies. We had students from all over India so ethically is was diverse too. Students were from all the class.
Hostel Facilities
I never opted for the hostel. Hostels were very good and affordable. They provided good food and basic amenities at at nominal fee. Hostels were right behind or near the campus so it was really convenient for the students to commute.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes alumi network is strong and senior students help. They help with campus recruitment and career related advice.
Admission
I got admission after passing the entrance test. I wanted to study Journalism so I opted for this course. There was an entrance test followed by Interview for those who passed the written test. It was in the year 2007 and I got enrolled on July 4, 2007.
Faculty
4 lecturers, average age- 40, Phd. They were excellent teachers. Yes they conducted many work shops and gave us opportunities like field research, writing assignments and etc. It was a vocational course so the curriculum was very much industry driven.
