Remarks
The college is good. And the Economics faculty is phenomenal.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite extensive and exhaustive. The additional/optional subjects are from diverse backgrounds and are quite interesting. Though I Would have liked it more had the course structure been more relevant to the industry and been a little more practical.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is improving year by year. They try to rope in good companies and are always on the lookout for internship and job opportunities- both on and off-campus. The procedure is pretty much the same for all companies - CV screening, written test, and a set of interviews.
College Events
There are department and society fests by every department and society. There is also the annual college fest - mosaic held every year. Most of them are on a large scale and attract a significant crowd from the north campus and beyond. My department conducts The Economic Fest- Dicentium which sees participants from as far as St Xaviers.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are extremely affordable. It can be paid online or to the admin office personally. It was around 12K for a year, for me. Only the examination fees need to be paid additionally every semester and it is also quite nominal, about 500-700 depending on the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn’t apply for any scholarship or educational loan since the fees were very nominal and inexpensive
Campus Life
The gender ratio was around 50-50 for my course. There were various seminars and workshops held. Extracurricular activities were abundant since there are many societies where you can showcase your talents and gain experience. The students are all from very diverse backgrounds in terms of religion, geography, and economic status which makes the experience very enriching.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, the alumni are very helpful and approachable. We also had a few sessions with our alumni who gave us somebody valuable insights on life after college.
Admission
I have always loved Economics and after school, I decided I wanted to explore it further. DU’s curriculum for Economics Hons is one of the best in the country, and hence I decided to go for it. Ramjas was the best option I had considering my 12th percentage since the admission criteria were merit-based.
Faculty
The faculty is great. Almost all the professors are PHDs from esteemed institutes and have a great reputation in the DU circuit and beyond. They have publications that are a part of our official syllabus. There is also SAESM, South Asian Economic meet which was started by our professors.
