NIT Silchar

Overall college is in better condition now. This year NIT Silchar are placed at 46th position in NIRF Ranking. And 9th amongst all 31 NITs.

Course curriculum is vary much beneficial for the students. Every semester we have to appear in 3 test. First Mid sem of 30 marks, Minor test of 10 marks, end sem of 50 marks and 10 marks is in the hands of teacher total 100 marks. out of 100 marks. Pass marks is 35. Yes industrial visits were ofrganised for a few batch.

Overall placement scenario of NIT silchar is good. CSE and ECE have 100 percentage placement. Placement ofcivil engineering is not so good. Only a few company come for placement drive i. e. L&T, Shapoorji punji, TCS, Capagemini, Musigma etc Steps followed in recruitment. 1. General aptitude test 2. Group Discussion 3. Interview Which varies from company to company Every year almost 70 percent students get placement from the college. Yes they provide us mock interview and group discussion.

Technical fest is Tecnoesis, which is 2nd biggest technical fest in north east after IIT Guwahati. It is held for 3 days. There are lots of technical events organised. There are 7-8 modules and every module has 2-3 Events. Every branch organise their own events. For civil engineering,Module is Smar city in which there are events called My city my dream. Cultural fest is Incandescence. It is also held for 3 days Nirvana,carpedium etc. where Bollywood singers and poet come and perform.

Fee structure is feasible. I am SC category student so I don't have to pay tution fee. I only pay mess fee and hostel fee. Mode of payment is online. But those who study on loans they have to make draft and then submit. No they don't charge any additional fee to get admission. Yes college provide transprerency in the fee breakdown. they provide us receipt every semester.

No I didn't opted for any scholarships. There are lots of scholarship for newly admitted students. They can apply through NSP portal. Which is national scholarship portal. Eligibility criteria is different for different types of scholarship.

Campus of NIT silchar is very beautiful. You will be mesmorised to the beaty of our campus. There are so many lakes and lotus in that lakes. You don't need to go anywhere outside. Gender ratio is very poor is our college 15:1. I'm talking about my branch civil engineering.

Yes I opted for hostels. They are well mantained and fully internet connectivity unlimited. Every hostels has their own generator. There is no problem of electricity. We get 24 hours water supply. Mess fee + hostel fee is 15500. In each room there are two table and two chairs. From final year every student get single room.

Yes there official group for alumni. They are invited every year in "Rexian" which is alumni meet program. Where they interact with the students, share their experience and exchange their views.

To get state quota benefit, I chosed NIT Silchar because I completed my class 12 from Assam only. I had studied for seven years in Assam and I liked the environment of Assam. It's wonderful. I chosed NIT Silchar because my friends with whom I had studied for seven years in sainik school goalpara Assam I chosed Civil Engineering as I want to do Government job. There are lots of vacancies for civil engineer in government sector. Now let's come to admission procedure. First you will have to appear in JEE Mains examination which are held twice a year.

All the faculty are highly qualified and well experienced. They are very friendly. they are always available for us. They provide us hand written notes for the subjects Faculty of every age groups are there in NIT Silchar. Yes geotechnical society regularly organise seminar for the students of civil engineering. And we get certificate too.
