It is a great college for placements. But the crowd is huge as it is a private college and so is the fees.

For the first year coursed like C++, Java, basic electronic, basic electrical, maths, physics, Chemistry, EVs, engineering design 1 and 2, communication, engineering mechanics are taught. From the next year the courses are mostly your stream related. Starting from theoretical it starts getting to practical.

They are one of the best in country. The average is around 6lpa per annum and is around 9 for CS students. The highest was around 38 lpa.

Thapar conducts variety of fests and events ranging from cultural to sports. The cultural is called Saturnalia and sports is Urja. Other than that there are various societies that conduct regular events that are technical and non technical. Co Curricular Activities structure of Thapar is very different from other colleges.

Since the college provides world class facilities it is also one of the most expensive private colleges of the country. But there are various scholarships available on the basis of merit and class 12th percentage. Now how hard or tough, depends on the category of scholorship, incase you among the 1st category getting an 8. 5 should not be that difficult. The second category is tough you will need to have something around 9. 5+ to consistently make it into the top 10% of students in your batch.

I got scholarship on merit basis as I had above 90 percentage and jee mains marks 173. To maintain the scholarship I had to have 8. 5 cgpa every year.

Campus life is great as the campus is huge. Sex ratio is also really good when compared to other engineering colleges. It is located in Patiala and have a very good campus. The counseling process is online and has 4 online counseling and 1 on spot/ offline counseling. The infrastructure is spread over 250 acres and have AC hostels for stay. Girls have stricter hostel rules. There is a stronflg anti drug policy.

Yes we were given different hostels for different year. There are 4 sharing, 3 sharing, twin sharing and single which is reserved for 4th year students. Each block in the hostel has a separate arrangement of water purifiers & bathrooms with geysers. There is high speed internet connection in each block. GYM facility is also provided to students. T. V. Room with sitting facility and newspapers are also provided. Food is provided in the hostel mess.

It has alumni pages and has strong alumni connection which is evident from the great placement scenario.

I got into the college on the basis of JEE Mains. Opted for COE branch. It is amongst the top private college in the country and is consistently amongst the top 30 colleges of the country for engineering. It is located in Patiala and have a very good campus. Faculty is really knowledge and friendly. You can connect with them very easily. They are one of the highest paid faculties. Some of them are Dr. Parteek Bhatia (CSED) - The most humble and hardworking professor I've met up till now. He is just an inspiration. The way he motivates the class is amazing Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma (School of Mathematics) - He taught us Maths 1 and 2 during first year. This person justifies the term “Professor”. The first thing he does after coming to take a class is revise the previous class topics so that no one is left behind. He teaches the concepts exceptionally.
