Currently, IIIT Una facilitates education through two temporary campuses of Dev Bhumy Group of Institutes, Himachal Pradesh and the NIT campus at Hamirpur, the main campus is still under construction and the placement is average. The first batch of IIIT Una passed in 2018, with an average salary of INR 3-4 LPA and highest salary of INR 10-12 LPA. i qwaas in thapar university batch 2019-23 feee were based on branch group:A (cse/coe/CSBS),group B (ECE/ENC/MEE), groupC (other). at admission i paid a one time admission fee of 13000and refundable caution fee of 10000 .each semester fee included tution , developemnt, registration /exam ,student activity and medical charges(no seperate lab fee) In 2019-20 the semester per fee was 1.69Lakh For group A ,1.59Lakh for groupB , 1.43Lakh for group C. in 2020-2021, it rose to 1.84 for group A , 1.70L for group B and for groupC 1.50L . in 2021-2022 it was 2L for group A ,1.80Lakh for group B and 1.58 for group C. BY 2022-2023 it reached 2.18 for group A 1.91L ,for group B and 1.66L for group c. So many yearly total wnt from ~3.3-3.7Lakh L in the first year to ~4.3L-4.4L in the final year . Overall , complete course cost about 15.7L fro group A , 14.3L fro Group B and For group C 12.6L including one time charges.hostel was extra ~31K -50K per semester depending on room type with mess and air conditioner chaged seperately. Fee were the same for all indian students (general/schedule caste/schedule tribes/OBC management) , varying only my branch. My batchmates in other branches paid according to thier group slabs,but there was no category - wise difference. Schoalrschips included merit schoalships for top / join entrance examination/12 performers (waiver of tution + develoopment fees if CGPA>=8) merit cum-means schoalaships up to 2.9-3.2L per year for needy students and aluni / name dscholarships like A.C. Khannna - Balarj Chexal, Shakuntala-juneja adn DR H.S. Kasana,usually Rs.10K or more Overall, the feess increased every year, but schoalships helped many of us reduced the financial burden.

this fees is per semester student activity and welfare-7500 medical fee-500 development fees 57000 examination fees-3000 tution fees-170600 fees doesnt increase much every semester its almost kind of constant and after 1st year you get scholarship based on the jee percentile as i had percentile of 96 so i gt 3 lakhs of scholarship and after that its based on cgpa you get every year nearly starting from 9.1 cgpa till 10 there is also merit cum means scholarship available in colledge if you want to apply but you will get only one out of merit cum means or merit one.

Thapar University COE Pros and Cons

The fees is a bit high for the overall degree.

So the fees in the first year started from about 430000 and eventually it rose to about 520000 in the last year and apart from this I got a scholarship in my third year for about 170000 as it was a merit based scholarship and anyone can the whole fees waived off if someone has got gpa for the whole year above 9.5, but overall I would say it is a bit overpriced for the degree.

The semeseter wise fees is more than 2.5 lakhs for computer related branches and around 2.2 lakhs for non computer branches. There is no special ailment for backward castes but scholarship opportunities are given on merit basis(jee score for first year) and cgpa for following years. There are different categories for scholarship amounts. Maximum scholarship provided is tution fee+development fee waiver. Then tuition fee+1/2 development fee and then only tution fee waiver.

The faculty in Thapar University is highly qualified many of them being IITians. The faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality may differ from teacher to teacher but the have a vast knowledge about the course they teach.
The course has majorly everything that can make a student industry ready.The semester exams are quite manageable if prepare on regular basis.

There is a minimum 75 percent attendance criteria which can be a bit frustrating as when a student want to explore on its own.

The fee is little high, like they can charge less or provide scholarships from first semester onwards, even though loan facilities are available, less fee would make this a great choice.

The fee per semester is 229500, development fee is 57000, and other charges sum upto 11000. Which is static and will remain same throughout the course i.e 8 semesters. We also need to pay rs 30,000 as admission fee one time. The hostel and mess charges are not included in this and depends on year and type of room you opt for. The campus is big, clean and has enough facilities to somewhat justify the amount. Also you can get many scholarships (merit based and merit cum need based). The scholarship is based on your 12 percentage and jee mains score for 2nd sem and on your CGPA for other semesters. No scholarship for 1st sem. You need to get good grades to get scholarship.

the fee comes at a higher side , around 327000 persem for computer related branches , for branches related to electronics and eletrical engneering its around 300000. for branches like mechnical its around 270000 . scholarship is provided to a good amount of student to be half of tution fee on merit based , there is also full fee wavier for selected few , merit cum need scholarship is also provided .
