MY MBBS JOURNEY

The college is really good and worth taking an admission into. It supports you in all aspects. Everybody is very kind and helpful here. If the fee is reduced a little then even middle or lower class people might also get an opportunity to study in such a reputed college.

In this 5.5 years of MBBS, the first 4.5 years are for the classes and practicals. The last one year is meant for a mandatory internship. The whole course is very neatly divided without having a lot of pressure on studies. The course is difficult but rather interesting.

The placements here are pretty good. It is however mandatory for you to do one year internship after you MBBS. The internship pays you almost 20,000 rupee stipend. You can later on join any hospital for work or pursue an higher degree course.

Our college is very active when it comes to hosting and organising events. There are freshers parties and many more such events. It is the students who organise all these events and parties. Everybody is free to participate. Our college events are quite popular in Kolkata.

The total course fee is around 8 to 9 lakhs. The fee is okay though some of them might find it difficult to manage it. It is the West Bengal government who decides the fee structure every year. The fee has been increasing every year which I feel is not very great.

There is no scholarship provided by the college as far as i know about it. The college does have a loan option. The fee can be paid using student loans and the college does help for it. The state government does provide scholarships and loans for poor or meritorious students.

The labs are pretty decent here. They are fully equipped. Workshops are frequently conducted in ur college. Guest lectures are also held occasionally. No where in the college you find male-female domination. Everybody is treated equally here and everybody is given equal opportunities.

Our college has its own hostel. The rooms are spacious and shared by 2 to 3 people. Separate beds, cupboards, desks etc are provided. Washrooms are separate for every room. We also have a swimming pool and it is a really good place to relax. The hostel food is good but it can be improved a little. The overall infrastructure is good.

Our seniors here are very helpful. They help us clear our doubts and guide us with the academics. Both seniors and juniors here form a really good team when it comes to hosting and organising any sort of events.

I qualified my 10+2 with 85% score. I qualified NEET with a good grade. Then based on my scores, I applied for various colleges. Then through counselling, I was allotted this college. I went for a visit and found it good. I later on submitted the required documents, paid the fee and finalised my admission.

The faculty here is outstanding. They are very kind. They are strict during the class hours but later on they are so much fun. We even sir along with them for lunch. They share their personal experiences which are inspiring. Everybody here is well qualified and experienced.
