Review of Gour Banga University

The course curriculum is just like other universities. It is divided into 3 years with the basics of physics being covered and core in upcoming years. Each year has 2 semesters and each semester has mid sem, labs, and end sem which decide the G.P.A. Course structure is designed with a nominal focus on research.

The placements and job scenario is not that good. Students do earn internships based on their skill. As the college is B+++ accrediated, placements are still lacking. Most of my seniors opted for further studies in reputed colleges and got admitted too.

The fee structure is quite feasible as I have to pay only around 1,420 INR. This covers all my fees from tuition to wifi. This is quite cheap and it is a good option with good value for money. If you choose a hostel, then you have to pay explicitly for it.

The labs are fully equipped with all technologies. Student culture is quite good as we regularly engage in sports and other fun activities. Gender ratio is not much and it is about 1:6. Seminars are held on a frequent basis.

The admission process is quite nominal as it is merit list based. There is no specific cut-off range. One should just pass in at least five subjects with English and Environmental Studies as compulsory subjects, for corresponding Hons. degree.

The faculty is quite satisfactory with good qualifications and are quite knowledgable. Senior teachers are experienced in teaching. Sometimes the lectures are quite boring and you don't have a way out. Guest lecturers are quite good too.
