Course Curriculum Overview

The course was 1 year long in duration. We had 6 papers that were taught throughout the year. At the end of the course, we had an exam of all the 6 papers. It was out of 100 marks and if we got 40 marks we would pass. The course taught us everything from media law to reporting to public relations. In the end, we also had a project and a viva voce.

Placement Experience

4

Our college had a good placement cell, although we didn't have many companies employing diploma graduates. We had mock interviews and CV improvement tips/classes as well as a lot of resources by the college for employment.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course fees were quite convenient, plus they let me do a distance education so i knew how to pay it. It cost about 4,620 rupees per year and my course was a year long course. The college does take additional fees for examination but that was from the range of 100-200 rupees.

Campus Life

Our college had a lot of programs that celebrated many holidays like Onam. We also had clubs where students could come and bring in ideas and arrange programs. Many departments had their own programs they would plan and execute by themselves.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel was a home away from home with good spacious rooms that were clean and ready for us to move in. We have to book hostels before hand to get accomodation, but if you don't manage to book it there are private hostels or pg's available.

Admission

I did this course while i was working, I applied to the course using my 12th marks and got admission. I found the course very informative and entertaining. Plus it was a distance education programme that allowed me to work while studying.

Faculty

4.5

Our department teachers are very trained and have worked as journalists for quite some time. They were accomodating to our time and availability and helped us with any doubts we might have had over the course of one year.
