Course Curriculum Overview

The course generally comprises of 6 semesters. Each semester segregated into Core disciplines and Electives. For DSE-(Finance) there is Investment Banking and Financial; Investment Analysis; Portfolio and Business Analysis and Valuation and Research Project.

Placement Experience

Our college has a collaboration with a private agency. Simultaneously there is also coaching for MAT/ CAT/ QMAT/NBU-MAT done by the college. Some of the other alumni are employed in big companies like TCS, Berger Paints, Edelweiss Securities, Axis Bank etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty decent and usually affordable. A student has to pay Rs 10,690 as tuition fee for first semester. Before semester a student has to pay Rs 10,000 before each semester. The fees has to be paid before enrollment of each semester.

Campus Life

There are group discussions, seminars, quizzes, cricket and football tournaments, sport meets, cultural meets and debating. Industrial tours are held each year. Some of the tours conducted were Sikkim Jewels, Coco-Cola, Sikkim Handlooms & Cottage Industry etc.

Admission

Our college is a premier college in North Bengal. I was calm and composed during the interview and it was done with ease. I had to fulfill the admission requirements for the course. I needed a minimum 12th mark sheet and the registration fees is Rs 400 for the offline course. For the online registration is Rs 100.

Faculty

Our faculty is extremely cooperative. The classes are quite fun and interactive. Our co-Ordinator holds a dual degree of M.Com and M.B.A. Our Economics holds a PhD degree and there are many other qualified teachers under his wings.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
