An Institute of National Importance

In the past 3-4 years the institute has really developed a lot and it will in the coming years. The management and administration tough was a little bit harsh initially but gradually it is smoothing up. Being an Institute of national importance, I will advise students to join NIT Agartala and make the NITA family bigger.

I appeared in AIEEE to take admission into this institute. My state rank was 135(GE)I opted for this college since it was in vicinity to my home.

I was a student in chemical engineering dept.The course curriculum was same as that of other NITs i.e. in accordance to the AICTE.Few of the subjects taught throughout the course were:-Thermodynamics,heat transfer,mass transfer, chemical reaction engineering, chemical process control

In third year, I underwent an Industrial training in Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. For a period of 28 days. Many students went for internship programs in various institutes viz. ICT Mumbai, MITEX, Canada, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, Schlumberger etc.

The cultural fest named Moksha held every year in the month of November. Singers like Vishal Dadlani, Sona Mohapatra, Amit Sana witnessed the fest. Also bands like Parikrama, Pentagram also rocked the stages .Ayaam is the techfest of NIT Agartala. Many technical events,online and offline competitions were organised during Ayaam.

The Semester fee for undergraduate students was around Rs.28,000.

The college offers scholarships to SC/ST students which are economically backward. However, North-East students get a special scholarship called 'NEC Scholarship'. It is an annual scholarship of Rs 12,000. The scholarship is irrespective of family income. But the student needs to secure 60% marks in his/her +2 Stage.

The campus life is really awesome. The labs were equipped with latest technology. The institute organises several workshops and seminars on the latest trends.There is a Student Gymkhana.The students of the institute also participate in Inter-NIT sport competitions. Very soon the institute will inaugurate the 'International Sport Complex' which will possess all the international facilities and it will be the largest in the entire North-East.

The hostels were newly constructed. So the rooms were very good and neat. However, 1st year and 2nd year students need to share their rooms. But 3rd year and final year students get a room of their own. M.Tech and PhD. students also get single rooms.The mess+hostel fee is Rs. 22,000. Presently, seats are limited but in future with the construction of other new hostels there will be no shortage of rooms.

In 2015, the institute celebrated it's golden jubilee. The institute has a diverse alumni network with people spreading different parts of the world.

We have a midterm of 30 marks and an end term of 50 marks. The rest 20 was internal assessment which include attendance, quizzes, assignments.
