Remarks
The college is good, and if you want to dedicate your time to academics, just go for it. The only complaint I have is that we could have had a lot more exposure, which I am really hoping the college will help with soon. Apart from that, it was all pretty decent.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was happy with the course structure. We were introduced to the major fields of economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, Indian economics, public finance, international economics, monetary economics, mathematical economics, and development economics among others. The exam pattern was the conventional written test every semester.
Placement Experience
We did have a placement cell but it was not really active, so there were not a lot of placements apart from the ones under ITI courses. And most of us went for higher studies. But a few did get decent offers.
Fee Structure And Facilities
We could choose a course with or without computer science, and I chose the latter. So I paid an annual fee of around 4100 rupees. That is affordable, and also justified if you compare it to other colleges and the training they provide.
Campus Life
We did attend a few seminars and workshops, and there were regular practical classes. We had a central library, and most of the departments had departmental libraries too. There was a lot of focus on NCC, NSS and sports. We had different student committees, which really helped the college environment. We also had an elected students committee with many sub-committees.
Admission
The admission procedure was very simple. I filled up the application form on the website and then the merit list was published on the college's official website. I was called for counseling along with my parents and all my documents. After document verification, I was admitted.
Faculty
We had hard working and qualified teachers, who were assisted by part-time and full-time government teachers. We had regular theory and practical lessons, and that is really helping me with my MA now.
