Remarks
My overall experience was good, and the best part is that I met great people. The course is pretty basic, but adding computer science helps. There could have been more guest lectures and seminars, but apart from that it is fine.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was the standardized version where we learnt the different styles of the literature, phonetics, the contemporary styles of writing, and the different time periods in the English literature. We had the semester system and a written exam at the end of every course.
Placement Experience
The placement cell was not for the regular courses, only for the ones with vocational or professional courses. And I had not expected placements after BA Hons in English, so I think that is forgivable.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is what you would normally expect. I opted for the course without music so I paid around 3300 per year, which is affordable. And for the course and infrastructure, it is very reasonable.
Campus Life
The college campus was fairly decent, and it really helped it you were from within the state. We had access to the central library, which was a good thing because the departmental library was not well stocked. We also had some workshops, and there were regular NCC and NSS events, along with the Annual Sports Event.
Admission
The college has a standardized English hons course, and the admission was exclusive based on merit. So I applied on the college website, and my name appeared in the merit list. The next step was counseling and after that, my admission was confirmed.
Faculty
The faculty was good, and most of the lectures, especially in the first and second years were given by guest and part time teachers. Our teachers were approachable and encouraging, and the professors were really helpful.
