Entrance Preview

I took the Kerala entrance exam. I had a rank of 3469. My Maths score was 222 and my phy/chem score was 72, so a total of 274. I chose this college because it was affiliated to CUSAT university( on of the top univs in India). This college was also near to my home( 13 km) and had god placement record.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I tool Electronics and Communications as my undergraduate field. All papers were good. I chose ASIC and VHDL for my final year elective. These papers I had to learn by my own because a majority of the students chose another paper ( mechatronics and bio-informatics) and so teachers were assigned based on majority. But overall it is a good field to look into.

Internships Opportunities

No companies came to college, offering internships. Students had to got out and find their own. Though many of us were unaware of the concept of internship.

Placement Experience

2.5

Most of companies that came were in the IT fields. Companies such as QUEST global, INFOSYS& TCS came almost every year and recruited at-least 50 students based on interview and test. The packages were good. freshers were offered monthly salary in the range of 20-27k Rs.

College Events

2.5

There are national level tech fest, sports, arts and all other events that are usually celebrated in every colleges. There are also technical workshops and seminars to help the students hone their skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you were in the top 5 ranks among your classmates in the entrance exam and if your family income id less than 2.5 lakhs, you would be given a free ride. No tuition fees at all.

Campus Life

2

Chilled campus life. There are national level tech fest, sports, arts and all other events that are usually celebrated in every colleges. There are also technical workshops and seminars to help the students hone their skills.

Alumni/Alumna

They were friendly. Their suggestions and notes helped us in our examinations. They treated us like siblings and they supported us during our needs and struggle against some of the management's decisions.

Exam Structure

It was pretty chilled out. Usually there will be 3-4 weeks between your practical exam and theory papers. Theory papers will have only a day or two gaps in between to prepare.

Faculty

3.5

The teachers are very effective in imparting knowledge. Though there were 1 or 2 teachers who were lazy who gave lots of assignments but never actually taught anything.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
