IIT Roorkee is one of the most prestigious institutes in India and has an awesome coding and software culture. So that's why I opted for this college. And due to rank, I preferred the course in the best college. Even since Biotechnology is a growing field and has ample opportunities I took the branch. I wanted to explore as much as possible.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course has many informative and exciting courses like Immunotechnology. Microbiology, Bioinformatics. But ensure a more mathematical culture. We even had Matrices, Calculus, and Stats Courses. Even Physics, Chemistry, Thermodynamics was included.
Placement Experience
We have a good placement record and companies like Google, Mircosoft, Sprinkler, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, J.P. Morgan, Adobe, Uber, Flipkart, Amazone, Jio, and many more visit every year for placements.
College Events
There are technical festivals live, Shrishti, and cognizance. Culture includes Thomson. All these 3 events gather a huge amount of students from all over India. They are mostly a 3-day fest. For sports, we have Sangram, which is organized every year in March and all schools from the Uttarakhand district and other IITs are invited. Other than the fests we have a celebration for all the festivals like for Garba night in the last three days of the 9-day festival. It is a parade by NCC at national festivals.
Campus Life
Sports: Basketball, Cricket, Squash, Volleyball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Athletics, Taekwondo, Swimming, Wi-fi: High-Speed Cisco Wifi all over the campus, plus a plan for rooms and even hostels are well equipped with wifi. Library: A three-floor Library + Basement Which has all the course-related books and journals. There is an archive gallery. Labs: All the labs are well equipped will all the necessary equipment.
Hostel Facilities
There are 12 hostels in total consisting of girl's, boy's, married people hostels. There are both 2 sharing as well as single rooms which are given depending on your degree and the year you are in. Every hostel has a mess, a day and a night canteen, badminton, basketball and TT courts as well as a gym. There is also a computer room, a study room, and a parlor and a fruit corner as well. All these facilities are available to each and every inmate of the hostel. There is also a cloth washing and ironing woman.
